sunlight
We carry around items. Phone. Wallet. Keys. Pens. These items serve a purpose and allow us to be as functional as possible. What we must learn to carry, more often than we do now, are the less-tangible items. Sunlight. Perspective. Confidence. These can help as much as things that will fit in your cargo pants.
walk
Not enough people enjoy the simple pleasure of walking for the sake of walking. We take a car to the store even if it's just a block. We take escalators and people-movers. We are propelled artificially too often, and I think it contributes to an overall lack of well-being both physically and mentally. I don't know about you, but I'm going for a walk.
tale
Modern medicine has come a long way, but let me tell you something that has been overlooked for far too long: The power of the mind. It has the ability to affect psychologically and physiologically. It has the ability to put you in a different place. It can be used for fun or function; telling a tale, or by overcoming adversity. It has the ability to be the strongest muscle in your body if you let it. Please let it.
patience
I sat down and didn't move for 20 minutes. I just watched. The whole time they watched me back, but I didn't care. I started to feel uncomfortable at first, but then I realized that everyone did it. Sometimes you are the audience, sometimes you are the character. This time I was the character playing the audience member who was watching the characters. But everyone knows the real story.
stroller
The biggest purchase I've ever made in my life is the stroller. I've bought a house, it made a home for me and my wife, and, of course, our soon-to-be born child -- but it's just bricks and wood. I've bought a car, it gets us around from point A to point B; but it's just metal and plastics. The stroller, though...it makes me a Father; it makes us a Family, its importance is too often underestimated.
cheek
We are breaking up and there was no way around it. Parting ways forever as lovers, but maybe, just maybe, we will remain friends, although I've never personally seen that work out. I'll never again kiss those lips. But as friends, maybe her cheek. That will have to be enough.
bleak
The outlook wasn't a great one, but he was confident that he would make the best out of the situation. It could be worse, right? He tried to steel his nerves and convince himself of that. I mean it's not like they were going to torture him by slicing his abdomen open and removing his intestines with iron hooks or anything. What's that? They are? Bummer.
blast
Everyone is trying to get get fit in order to look good in a bathing suit or have a sexy pose in a picture.. I'm not. I am trying to live life healthfully, eat smart, and exercise so I can watch my kids grow up. Ever since I changed my mindset, I've been having a blast.
delight
Today, I took my twin daughters into kindergarten. I can't believe how big they have gotten. As we get older, we too easily forget to see the world for the big, exciting, wonderful place that it is. Take delight in the littlest of things.
seconds
When driving, it's the difference between life and death. When eating it's the difference between fit and fat. It's "seconds"! Groan. Oh, man, I don't know why I decided to stay up so late last night. I can't write today!
