prosperous
"So your trip was prosperous?" his patron asked with a knowing smile. Gallows just shrugged. "I suppose it was, sir. I brought you back the head of a Gorgon, after all."
setting
Setting down the watch, she looked up at the clerk. "I'd like to buy this." The clerk picked up the watch and examined it closely. "I don't suppose you know what this is, do you?" warned
"You've been warned," she said coolly, setting down the revolver on the table. "Please don't make me repeat myself." He looked down at the revolver, which was half-melted and still glowing like a hot coal. "That...okay, I admit that was frightening," he muttered.

tilt
The pinball machine started to flash the word "TILT!" in big LED red letters, and Josephine felt like tipping it over in frustration.
calling
He kept calling her and calling her. It was a bit annoying, but she supposed if you were out in the middle of nowhere, people assumed you were bored. She wasn't bored or lonely. She wished he'd stop calling.
