furnace
She sat down on the bottom step and listened intently. Was it going to start? That fan must be at least 30 years old. Now was certainly not the time for it to decide to not work. All the sudden, it kicked on and the furnace was working!
edition
This edition will prove to be the finest yet. I have reworked, revamped and re-edited my old self into a newer, more exciting version of the old me. No more tears, no more fears. Watch me go to town.
summer
She loved him in the Spring and he loved her. But now it was summer. He had moved on but she had not been capable of doing that. She stared at him as he played, stuck on the stage, where he could not escape her gaze.
blotches
I thought of them as blotches on my soul. Those dark spots that I would never be able to erase. The world would always know of my imperfection. Original sins, but they were lies. I am beautiful.
respectable
She wanted to look respectable, yet she wasn't quite sure what that entailed. She was under the mistaken impression that it took money to look respectable, not understanding that daisy dukes and tiny tops was anything but respectable.
perfectly
It fit perfectly into his plans. She was leaving and he needed another so that he could keep living in infatuation. He really did not know what love was, he moved only from high to another. As one faded, he could easily navigate to another.
fiction
She wore her hair long. Long and straight and blond. Her figure was slight. She looked like a little girl at times, but at 50, if someone thought that he would get a little girl, he read too much fiction.
phrase
She watched from the back. She had wanted to go to him, but she was terrified. Not of him, but of the phrase that he could utter. There could be nothing worse coming from his lips but to hear him say, I don't care.
success
Success used to mean more money. As I have aged, my viewpoint has changed dramatically. Success is how well you function as a human being, how well you can communicate and how you feel about yourself at the end of each day.
notice
I am hereby giving you notice. I do not want to stay up any longer than necessary. If you have something on your mind, brain, say it now. I do not plan to be awakened this evening because you are on the hamster wheel turning and churning, shortening my slumber.
