smudge
It was just a smudge! In fact, it started out as less than even a speck, but things just started spiraling, and the more I tried to fix it the worse it became.
beware
I would tell you to beware and stand clear, but I'm sure you wouldn't listen away. But I guess it is true what they say, hindsight is 20/20.
tales
Her tales often left me wondering whether the world could truly be that awful, or if she just had a wild imagination, but considering the circumstances I could never truly be sure.
withered
Her withered hands caressed my face as we sat nestled against one another, hoping to beat the moon to bed.
returned
When I returned everything was different, but only slightly. In fact when I first returned I didn't notice a change at all, but the longer I stayed the more I began to notice them, and the more I noticed the more I noticed the more frightening they became.
signals
They signaled for her to run. She hesitated, then thought disobedience would be more detrimental, so she ran.
flames
Up in flames is how she went, but she was content with how it ended. Smoke inhalation was what got to her, it was painful, but better than the alternative. The alternative, that was the last thought to cross her mind.
startled
"You Startled me!" I shouted as his hand grazed the back of my neck, he had truly caught me off guard, but it wasn't an angry shout; I was happy to be here.
embellish
"I try not to embellish too much, but I thought it was the only way to get through to you" "So you lie about something like that? You're a really sick fuck, you know that?" *twitches* "Please don't talk like that, I really don't want to have to hurt you"
leathery
She sat up startledly. She had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach and she was worried, she reached for his arm, but when she felt his cold leathery skin she knew. It had finally happened that really was his last day, the day she crawled into bed long after he had shut his eyes.
