rival
People say Donald Trump is our ultimate rival; so little do they know that America is our rival. "How did we get to this point?" People muster sadly, while they build capitalism off the backs of the disadvantaged.
downpour
As the tears streamed down her face in a downpour, she inhaled, desperate for a catch of breath. "Pl-please don't," she begged, writhing for her life. Her life was her boyfriend. Unfortunate luck.
thread
The thread is what holds life itself together. However, there is always one person that suppresses the ability to flick the thread, twist it, and pull it away from the life. Then life would pull apart. But. That is what makes life.
driving
I just passed my road test. On Friday. I was supposed to be allowed to drive just to work and school but I found out that I could drive anywhere. Sweet. I was driving by myself for the first time to Dunkin' Donuts to buy my mom coffee and I was grinning the whole way there. It was exhilarating.
trophy
His eyes glistened with tears as he thrust the trophy up into the air, the gold shining as it reflected off the gymnasium lights overhead. The crowd was cheering him on, praising him for what he had done -- dribbling the ball to the right instead of to the left and ultimately leading the team to the world championships.
cigarette
As he inhaled the heat from the cigarette, he smirked. At me. "Problem?" He quipped coolly, toying with the shape of the cigarette between his fingers. "No." I replied, my gaze fixed on the cigarette. "Good." He smiled for the first time and the last time, before turning around and went out of my sight forever.
straw
A straw in the cup. Straw. s t r a w. It is interesting how a bunch of letters combined into one word could mean something. But when you look at it for a long time, it looks so weird. Like a foreign word.
expecting
I am expecting a lot from myself. As I approach my senior year in the fall, I am hoping I will complete my analyzing on my two AP English books, finish all the basics of the college apps, and do good things. I NEED to do this. To prove everybody wrong by getting into a good college and show that I can do this.
cast
She couldn't believe her eyes as her eyes flickered across the computer screen again, again, and again. She had been chosen to play Cassandra in the television show. She exhaled, suddenly out of breath, mostly from disbelief. Then a tear suddenly rolled down her cheek and she stifled back a sob. Why isn't she as happy as she thought she would be?
stem
The stem of the apple is the part where nobody really notices. The apple itself stands out too much, overshadowing the stem. That's exactly like that with people. People have a big ugly stem -- a flaw. But the beauty within self overshadows it. That's the way it is.
