savage
"they're savages, savages- barely even human. Savages! Savages! Do they even bleed?" Pocahontas was her favorite Disney movie.
glimmer
the sequins on her dress had a peculiar pattern that seemed to glimmer unnaturally under the glow of the streetlights. she walked with her shoulders back and her head held high. she attracted attention from people the general populous tended to avoid. She didn't seem to mind.
scarves
College acceptances are like the dreadful process of shopping with a very picky person in a thrift store. Some items will be of higher quality, like cashmere scarves or designer jeans, but they're of a boring color or not what the capricious shopper is looking for. No, the shopper wants to purchase the cheap scarf and faded jeans from the stoned guy on the street. /didn't get into UCLA.
almost
I almost had you.
example
He set the bar for all of the other dancers in the world: he was innovative, he was fearless, he broke the rules time and time again. He was the perfect example of a kid who was going to take his passion and actually go somewhere in life. He was the epitome of 'follow your dreams,' except he opted to chase them down.
control
His life was spinning out of control. He thought he had everything figured out, thought he had everything planned well.... apparently not.
final
The crowd was in awe--the band had just just played their final song and had left the stage, throwing out their half-filled water bottles, drumsticks, and guitar picks into the audience on their way out. The set was amazing, enough to drive any fan wild. The music continued to pulse through all their veins and wouldn't come to an end any time soon. The band may have played their final song, but their music still plays on.
specific
She was looking for something specific. She walked down the aisles, scoured the entire store, walked the city, going from store to store... all for what? No one knew. Each and every Saturday she left her home and bothered the urban setting with her eccentricity and randomness. No one knew what she was looking for. No one knew, of course, but her.
basic
She was the kind of girl who was the most comfortable at home, alone, sitting on the couch wearing a basic white tee and sweatpants, reading a favorite novel. She could listen to music all night or watch re-runs of sitcoms until the morning sun came up. And whenever someone would call her and interrupt her alone time, she'd pick up the phone because she made it a point to make herself available to all her friends whenever they needed her. Because that was the kind of girl that she was.
cheap
Everything about her screamed 'cheap' from the golden hoops in her ears to the smeared make up and the platform heels. She sat down at the counter and asked for nothing but a coffee, probably because that was all that she could afford. She probably just finished working the corner and needed a boost before heading on home. But who was I to judge? I had been sitting in my corner booth for over two hours with a blank page in front of me and no words scribbled on it. I was almost as useless to society as she was, if not even more. At least she brought pleasure.
