scientists
Feeling like a mouse on a table, I grimaced. It felt as if all these people were scientists, ready to pick me apart. My arms and legs flailed, trying to escape the leather bonds, yet I was met with nothing.
harness
I laughed and leaned my head against Charlie's neck. Running my fingers through his mane, I sighed. Sometimes I imagined him as a puppy with a harness on, when he wore his bridle. He just didn't fit into it so well.
wealth
My eyes narrowed as I realized that he had so many things that could benefit us. He had wealth, a stable life, as well as so many others. Adding him to the team would be good, but It may also create tension between every one else.
wallow
I snorted in disgust and turned my head. Seeing him wallow in self pity was not what I wanted to see, especially since he had created this mess. I heard him fall to his knees and groan softly, mumbling about how it was so sad that he had lost so much. As if no one else had.
soar
His image seemed to flicker. I squinted and though it was maybe a trick of the rising sun. Like a mirror that had fallen over, the boy suddenly shattered. A million pieces of him looked as if they were about to soar out over a passing train. I gasped softly when the pieces all came together and he was sitting on top of the train as he had done it for his whole life.
pressing
I gasped and felt a crack. "Perfect. Just freaking perfect!" Shock was evident on my face. "How the hell is this perfect? I pressed so hard that it cracked in half! Now there's no way that this fence will be fixed on time." I groaned and looked at all the broken fence planks that lay in a pile. "Sarcasm my dear friend. Now we'll be grounded for life."
rented
I grinned and folded my arms proudly. "You rented out the WHOLE place?" Her jaw dropped. "Yup! Isn't it great?" With my chest puffed out, I looked around the roller rink. The lights were dimmed, but the disco ball lit everything up. Roller skates stood beside tables, and only a few of our friends were here. "She's going to hate it." Aubrey lifted a brow and folded her arms, yet her expression was anything other than proud. "You know what she gets like when people do huge things. Things like this."
devastated
My heart felt like it was being pierced by a thousand shattered pieces of glass. I looked around at my now ruined home. Smoke still rose from the ashes of buildings, while others still flamed. In short, I was devastated.
slate
A blank slate. It's how a new year starts. But before a blank slate what do you have? One filled with things, whether's it good or bad. Now to be interesting, your slate is usually filled with negative things that have happened, or anything that can hold you back from doing what you want. I need a clean slate. That's the only way I'll be able to live.
