puzzled
Puzzled. Like an alzeimer's patient who cannot remember their own daughter, standing in front of them, trying to wipe their brow. To be puzzled is to be lost momentarily.
foreign
I wish I could communicate more with my cat. We understand each other quite well, considering the obvious barriers, but I'd love to know more about who she is, what she feels, thinks, experiences. She's adorable and she's my friend and I'd love to know her better.
gadget
"Oh that looks....um....amazing!" I tried so hard to sound convincing knowing that it was darned obvious that the new toy my boyfriend had bought me was more for his amusement than for my pleasure! Sheesh.
robot
As I walked around the uni campus I felt a great weight lift from my shoulders. Geoff said my work was great. Great, he said! That's the first time I've felt valued and that I'm moving in a forward direction with my studies. For ages now I've been feeling instead like an academic robot with no colour, no creativity, and no life.
acoustic
The acoustics resonated around the hall as I bashed and clanged in the kitchen. God I was angry. Why on earth I have to put up with such insolence and cockiness from a bunch of old ladies with nothing better to do than crochet coat hanger covers I'll never know.
whiskey
I used to have a budgie called Whiskey. He was sweet, but I didn't care for him very well. I got bored with him in his little cage, with bells, a mirror and cuttlefish. One day I found him dead, on the bottom of the cage. He not only died alone, he really lived alone too, which I still feel bad about.
luxurious
To lie in the grass on a sunny day, just listening to the bugs nearby and the wind in the trees, is one of the most luxurious things I will ever experience in my life. Sheer simplicity is like a natural drug that I often overlook in favour of more instant gratifications.
gasoline
When I think about what gasoline is - refined & processed oil - it makes me connect with what it has been for billions of years. Underground, simple in its outcome from the processes of earth's evolution. Nothing to do but sit there and wait for humans to industrialise and exploit it to the brink of their own extinction.
gasoline
The smell was horrid. A mixture of gasoline and burnt bodies made for a horrific image as I slowed down to pass the accident. The emergency crew had just removed a small child from the back seat, all charred, lifeless, tortured to death in an instant by the explosion.
obsolete
Hahahahah. That's funny. Obsolete. Like that would ever happen. Everything's so shiny and new, so up to date! The only thing that is obsolete is obsolescence. Heheheh, obsolete. Hmmm... wait I...!!
