I heard a gong sound. I couldn’t tell where the noise was coming from. At first I thought it was ahead of me. But then it seemed to surround me. Bong, Bong, Bong. Incessantly.

He emporer did not like the food that was brought to him. His devious looking new chef seemed untrustworthy. The emporer was scared to eat he food he was served so he banged the gong with he mallet and the guards came into he chamber to arrest him. Later that morning he was beheaded at the sound of another gong.

I believe a gong is like a giant asian cymbal, which is funny because of how tiny asians are. Why would they need a cymbal that big? have you ever seen an asian drummer?
I beat the gong several times but nobody answered. I put the stick down, took my shoes off and walked in to the temple. A giant baphomet statue looked back at me. I felt a sense of serenity overcome me. It was beautiful.

‘GOOONNNNGGGGG’ the chime sounded as the test finished. I had already finished though so it was okay, I did fine.
Hopefully all my other classmates did well too, I wouldn’t want for any of us to fail and stay back a grade since this test is very important.
The dinner gong sounded promptly at eight, she knew that now was the time, it was now or never. Quietly closing the bedroom door she went to face her future

in one of my travels in china i wanted to buy a huge one from a buddhist monk. I tried to find one in small villages on the mountains. In the temples, in the gardens. I was lost. Until a little girl came. A star. Bright eyes, big smile. She said, I have a secret. It lies in a cave under the sea. Are you sure? I asked. Take me there. Will fly you there.

I dig the heels of my hands into my ears and pray to silence that damn noise. The sound resonates in the backs of my molars, makes the hair on my forearms stand up. I’m too hungover for this, I want to tell my mom, but I don’t think my six year old brother would appreciate that sentiment.

And now, at the end of it all, me, a time traveling tourist, am about to be executed because of the only violent perversion of Buddhist teachings in China’s 3750 year old history.

it rhymes with bong but also reminds me of “bang a gong get your gong get it on” by t-rex. i think of a loud banging sound. gong is a sound like farts. and burbs. gong is an onomopoeia. GONG, going going gone
buddhism has always been my tradition i’ve never questioned it. Ever since I was born I was supposed to bow at the sound of a gong, I never knew why. I only knew that it was respectful of me to do so. Maybe I should question my actions more. before I start to adhere to them.
