  1. SIXTEEN CANDLES ON MY BIRTHDAY CAKE AND I AINT GOT NO PLACE TO GO ….WHOA IS ME

    by MIKE on 03.12.2009
  2. I’m going to learn how to drive at sixteen. I’m not sure how well that will work. I mean, I think I’ll be able to drive per say, but the getting somewhere in a decent amount of time without a gps?? Yeah, not so much. I also want to be a lifeguard at sixteen. Because then I can save kids. Won’t that be great?? Mhmmm I know, I know. But it might be fun, despite the intense 7 hour classes to learn how to save people. Yay.

  3. The world was ending. The sky was gray with strips of purple and pink. It was extremely peaceful for the end of the world, if you ask me. The birds dare not speak and it was quiet. So I sat there, watching the sky and hearing the noise as the clock turned 2am. I turned sixteen years old.

  6. One day i will be sixteen and I will have a party of a lifetime. i will have balloons. Friends and people I know will be invited. I will have an amazing dress. The party will be in a club with many disco lights. I will arrive with a limo, like the red carpet. Then entertain our guests with a mini concert in my house. I will be the most popular girl in the school. But my Dream Sweet sixteen will only be a dream……

  7. i hate being 16. i seriously seriously hate being 16. teenagers are awkward and smelly and obnoxious. we have no purpous in life other than to insult cultures, insult our own, insult the world. We are a throbbing mess of a year and we waste it gossiping and poking people. what point is there? we think we own the worlkd. we think we are the shit. we think that our lives are now. and they aren’t.

    by Juliana on 03.12.2009
  8. Sixteen. Hah. I was just thinking sixteen. Funny, I coulda been WAAAY off and instead — I was right on the money.

“Sixteen Agnomens To Decorate His Suffix.”

I was thinking of that when the thought came to mind. And I’m really not writing anything, but I do like that chapter. It’s in a book called Procession of Inifinty.

    Also, I don’t fell sixteen a’tall.

    by Caps Lock on 03.12.2009
  9. I am making such a sour face right now. Sixteen will always make me think of sixteen year old girls, and as a result that MTV sweet sixteen show. It’s such a pile of balls.

Yet, I quite enjoyed my life while I was that age.

    by Adam on 03.12.2009
  10. Together we stared at the clock. Nothing was going to stop it, nothing was going to save it, nothing was going slow down this moment. I glanced at her quickly, then decided that wasn’t enough. I looked long and sorrowfully at her, and she gazed back, tearless. Between us, the clock still ticked, unaware that we had almost forgotten it. She leaned in just as I did, closing her eyes to let one tear squeeze from the corner of her eye. The world was awaiting it’s end, and I couldn’t imagine a better way to see it out. Our lips brushed as the clock marked the last sixteen seconds of our existence. Fifteen… Fourteen…

  11. I am sixteen years old, for crying out loud!
    I can drive a car,
In two years I can smoke
(Even though sometimes I don’t wait that long.)

In five years I can drink,
But I don’t pay any attention to that rule.

Perhaps I should be 18, right here and right now.

    by Alina on 03.12.2009

  13. Sixteen candles, to me, meant nothing. Why sixteen? What do you get out of it?

Two years later, 18 came around, but I was likewise disappointed. Weren’t we supposed to feel older? Aren’t these our turning points?

As human beings, we like to isolate specific times, when we are mature, but we don’t mature like that.

    by Jordan Hardy on 03.12.2009
  14. One of No Doubts best songs ever. The intro is the best part. Unfortunately she never sings it like that live. I bet it tears her vocal chords too much. July 5th, Excel Energy Center! Row 3! I’m there :)

  18. When I was sixteen, I thought I might be pregnant, and when I learned I was not, there were no words in the English language which could describe my relief! To this day, I am glad I was not pregnant then.

  19. Sixteen tons. That’s what it feels like when you’re around. Maybe not the deeper in debt, but you’ve definitely aged me. I can tell she is a wonderful person. But it makes me happy that she doesn’t want you. Maybe she is your sixteen tons.

  29. sixteen years since i was the size of a tiny little shrivelled lung beneath my mother’s rib cage. sixteen years ago, i was a tiny little egg, a mere smattering of cells all bunched together with all the little bits of information it needed to make itself into a human.

  32. Sixteen minutes, thats the lapse of time that separate’s us from oblivion. When the bomb will detonate against my belly, you and I and everyone else will be blown into smithereens.

  33. Sweet sixteen has never looked so sweet
as it does sitting on you.
And I bet it’s never tasted as sweet
as it lies on those pink lips.
Let me see how sweet it tastes
    under the midnight stars.
    Because I want to be
    the one to taste
    sweet sixteen’s first kiss.

  36. It had been days – she couldn’t remember exactly how many, but it was less than twenty (and more than ten, most likely) – since she’d last seen him. He’d stood above the dark, gaping mouth that had been dug into the ground, with no discernible expression, clearly intent on ignoring her.

    by Jessie on 03.11.2009
  37. Oh sweet sweet 16. What I’d give to rewind and live it all over again….well…I say that, but would it be the same? would I change things? certainly – all things that would drastically alter who I am and where my life is right now. But then I’d have never of learned the lessons I have in the first place – and I’d be none the wiser.

  38. When I was sixteen I was drinking warm beer stolen from anywhere. We kept a case of flat Natural Ice under Lauren’s porch and in the summer we’d all celebrate another successful Friday by trying to choke down another Natty.
