  12. Sometimes I hold things and think about how much better life would be with only three fingers. You get a thumb, a pinky, and a middle finger.

If everyone had this, would anyone know they looked like aliens? The weird ones would be the poor disformed with 5 fingers. All of them would be assigned a position at the beginning of life to be an all star baseball pitcher.

Then you hold a pitcher of iced tea and wish you had two more fingers to grip it with, because lets be honest, iced tea is heavy.

  40. I remember the last time I got to hold you. It was already cold where you live, though it wouldn’t be cold for months where I live. We were in the dropoff lane at Chicago O’Hare, kissing so deeply we almost fused, our arms around each other as if it were possible to hold on forever. But, as if to remind us of the impermanence of joy, the parking attendant loudly broke us up. I visit this moment often, and in my heart, I hope you do too.
