trunk
we all carry around luggage. some purses, some backpacks, some suitcases or dufflebags. on days like today i feel like mine is a trunk. my feet as if they're fitted into cement because of the weight holding onto me. tell me, can you really let go of the past? or does the Past have to graciously loosen it's grimy fingers from your collar for you to move on?
slouch
she slammed the door and all i could do was slouch on our couch. the world stood still. all but our clock which ticked boomingly on the wall reminding me of the silence i would endure until she returned. tick, tick, boom.
beginning
beginning. isn't every moment a new beginning? can't you decide to begin something right now?.. or now? can't you change your life, begin your life at any time you'd like? it's funny- and kind of liberating to think of beginning. endless opportunities.
patent
patent. do you ever wish you could patent some things as your own? not so much so that no one else could have them, but so that you could be sure they were your's to keep. i'd patent happiness, love, peace, patience, comfort, laughter...
autumn
autumn leaves are falling, just like all our smiles. our tans they fade, our feelings sway. and the sky is getting darker.
downpour
The rain comes lightly at first. It's a funny thing to see the drizzle but not necessarily feeling it. Then the wet sinks through your shoes. You become more and more aware as your vision blurs. You start to comprehend what's going on and it hurts. First pricking your toes, then heels, ankles, and even head. Next thing you know, it's a downpour. Life seems to happen that way.
