  15. The tide rolls in from time to time. I sit staring out at the endless abyss of liquid misery wondering if it’ll lap up everything that it keeps sending back anyway. I don’t mind getting swallowed up by the force of it all. It’s nice to be a part of some kind of pattern. It’s nice.

  23. I never understood how someone could get swept away in a tide – carried against their will, frightened. I’ve always been a good swimmer and figured I could beat it. Now I realize this might be a metaphor for my whole life – but maybe I’m overanalyzing it.

  28. Tide is pretty sweet, it comes up and retreats when the earth rotates and is tilted, depending on which way the earth is leaning. Tide can also kill people, by washing them away to sea… its cool to watch its effects.

  38. Oceans and rivers and streams, all quilted together into the sea of time. Footprints in the sand on an orange and yellow beach. The tide comes in and tickles your toes, a reminder of where you’ve been before and where you’re going. Then, the water erases the tracks you’ve left and all that is left is millions of grains of sand in front of you, in back of you, and beneath your own feet.
