400 Entries for “subway”

  1. I got stuck again. Looking both ways down the tunnel, there was no sign of another train approaching. I took a seat by the bench and dropped my heavy bags, the compartmentalized pieces of an overgrown pigsuit. This was my life. And the longer I waited to make something happen, the longer I’d be just another porker on the street.

  2. one of the best sandwich places i have ever eaten at ever. a way of traveling threw congested cities. trains are usually in subways. colorful people. uncomfertable positions and small talk.

    by neal on 03.26.2009
  3. dark and loads of people, trains bustly away and the humm of doors opening up. its really load and loads of people. bordome, nobody knows where they are going, the signs are really hard to read. the atrifical light is very bad, and you feel like you haven’t seen the light of day for a week. no where to sit down, legs are aching.

  4. i wouldn’t call it a subway since the locals dubbed it a metro, but either way it was underground. i liked the urbanness of it, so it was a perfect place when it came for us to take a picture. the background was tiled and the lighting was suprisingly great. and when we got onto the train itself i was suprised that he sat next to me.

  6. A maze of darkened tunnels. Full of filth and grime. Uncomfortable. Crowded. Crammed like sardines in a can. It’s stifling and uncomfortable. Electric screams.

    by Padraig Duggan on 03.26.2009
  7. The man sat on the subway, fumbling in his pockets for some unknown object. He was older, mid 40s, with gray hair around his temples.

Shelby wondered what he was looking for…

  8. A beeter place to see interesting people.

    by Márcio Bacha on 03.26.2009
  9. Down in the bowels of the earth, a contraption of steel hurtles by. People are watching out windows, seeing glimpses of terrain, cars, trucks and black caverns. The contraption is a subway. A long tunnel is the home to the subway. People lose themselves while riding subways. Just listen to the rumble and doze. Nothing means much while you sit and read in a subway. Nothing means much in the netherland. Come into the light and get out in the day, away from the black tube. Become part of the living, and let the subway go on its way.

  10. subway has good sandwiches. ive been on a real subway in new york city for a mission trip. speaking of, I hate sally so damn much. goliath sang christian songs on the subway and embarrassed the hell out of me. me and my bro always get bacon chicken ranch footlongs at subway, and sometimes chips. i usually dont get chips. new york city sucks. i would never be able to live in that shit hole. way too many people.

  13. The subway is fast and no brakes. It is highly desirable when traffic is heavy. Sometimes there is a lot of people and can not walk but always go on.

    by Alayra on 03.26.2009
  14. the subway is a place of vastness and isolation. the people surround, yet you’re utterly alone. they stare while you sit, ipods in hand, unthinking of you or the man next to you. crowded but alive.

    by aisha on 03.26.2009
  15. I have never ridden on a subway. It looks so interesting in the movies. I live in a small town and we don’t have them. I drive a car everywhere, not very good for the earth, I know. Someday I will go to New York and ride the subway. San Francisco Bay area has a light train but that just doesn’t seem the same.

  16. In the darkness of the subway a man is walking, he is alone. he is fearing for his life; the chase was painfully long. But not as painful as it was to become. For, a train was coming. And he was not off the tracks yet, while his persuers were surely watching.

  17. underground, hidden away. Frightening, scary, dark-man lurks in the shadows. Hidden by the flashing neon bulbs. Stairs, stick of wee, busker in the shadows, playing, badly. Night, gates closed. Can’t get home.

    by Spinner1 on 03.26.2009
  18. The subways come. The subways go. I love taking the subwqays because you never know where they may end up if you don’t look at the name or number of the subway.

    It’s fun!

  22. violinist on the subway that no one even noticed and yet he was a briliant compuser. Sad state of man when we don’t have time to notce beauty and care more about the meaningless hustle and bustle of everyday life. I wish their were some way for us to all just slow down and take a minute to enjoy where life would take us if we didn’t force ourselves into society

    by David on 03.26.2009
  23. The subway car was dimly lit and dingy, and made strange squeaking noises as it hurtled underneath the city. Nevertheless, the setting gave Tim a kind of comfort, in a way he coudn’t quite explain.

    by Doug on 03.26.2009
  24. Subway, you don’t deliver. If you did, I would take my custom to you more. In addition, your prices are mightly steep, for what is essentially dodgy meat, and old lettuce. I’m a vegetarian, and the veggie option is pretty poor. Subway! I complain, but I love you really. You… you complete me.

    by Luke on 03.26.2009

  26. The subway, chaotic, insane, blowing debris and dirt onto the platform where we sat. She was soaked through, shivering under my jacket, her light blue dress clinging to her legs, her knee high socks twisted and glum. She briefly looked up at me, lifting her lank hair from my lap to give me a sad, soulful smile. The subway, chaotic, insane and full of other peoples rubbish and problems, just like the girl who lay across my knees.

  27. it was crowded and dusty and kinda quiet. that was before the fire started. soon screams and flames echoed through the dark underground tunnel.

  28. The subway grey, the rainy sleet, the rainbow umbrellas in the air.

    Water, pavement, shoes, strangers.

    Dizzy.

  29. It’s dark and windy and alone down there. Alone amidst a thousand other people. It’s the rush that should be above ground, the dark hope that everything stays working long enough to see the sky again.

  31. People take this to work. They descend into the cellar of the city and board the machines that run the world. Along the way they might find love, music, or perhaps they will lose themselves in the darkness.

  32. good to lose wieght I here from Fogel. Franchise cost 160,000 to open one. Low over head

  33. yesterday i went to get a sandwich
before i boarded the subway, it was the funniest thing.
since the sandwich had been from the sandwich franchise, subway.
it was only to build upon the conclusion that:
i was eating a subway sandwich, in a subway.
irony comes in many forms, but often these paradoxes could not be fulfilled with such intimate legitimacy to force such actions!

  34. the subway was cold and damp
he held my hand and pulled me through the masses of people
i miss how his breath smells
    he was everything
until the train came and our day was over
months later he broke my heart
and things will never be the same
    i still miss him sometimes
but he’s not there for me anymore
i loved him with everything i had

  35. we spend our lives waiting
for the train, for the light,
    for the right words
    to sneak up on us
and make us go where we want

    by chaz bouregalt on 03.26.2009
  36. This word sucks sometimes, and other times it can make me think of amazing things. As a woman, I want to think of passing moments when I might lock eyes with the man of my dreams, but mostly, I’m just bumping butts with some asshole who won’t get out of my fucking bubble. He smells like shit by the way.

  40. the subway is a dark scary place. It can eat you and then it will throw you up. It will digest you, taste you and perhaps keep you. When you see the subway for the first time, you know this is true. You know for sure that your life will not be the same.
