  15. Directly exactly one thing and no other – without any room for moving around or willy nilly sort of play that makes it all so vague and ridiculous. This is the real thing. Precisely.

  16. If I was to be specific about the word specific, I would trace it down to the smallest detail. Perhaps describe he space of in between the letters, and the shading on the curves of the C’s. I would count the pixels making up the space in the E’s, and be as descriptive as possible about the word.

  21. one word could be any word, no-one knows what the word could be, imagine if there was only one word in the world. And it was only how its pronounced that affected its meaning. by Albie Lancastle on 03.16.2009
  22. Specific. Specific color hair. Specific order. Specific journal topic. Specific way to do things. Specific. I hate specifics. They tend to limit things. Even moreso I hate when people are not specific. When they tell you to do something for them but won’t tell you exactly what they want. Like when you wouldn’t tell me how to get to you.

    by Nicole on 03.16.2009
  23. Be specific. That’s what her professor had said when giving instructions about her writing assignment. All she needed now was a topic to write about. She looked around her dorm room, trying to find inspiration. Nothing specific caught her eye.

  31. “Give me a double with cheese-I’d like the pepperjack NOT the American, and put the slice BETWEEN the patties not on top. Extra mayonnaise- on BOTH buns. No pickles no tomatoes. Instead of iceberg lettuce I want the romaine. Substitute barbeque sauce for ketchup. And I want extra onions, but don’t overdo it this time PLEASE. Also a large soda- lite ice- half doctor pepper half DIET Pepsi. And a medium fry….no salt please.”

  34. I dont’ realy know what to write about the word specific without being to specific in my writing. Since I only have about 45 seconds left to go, i’m not sure what I could write about the word ‘specific.’ I think that being specific is an important thing that a lot people don’t do when trying to explain something. I think more people should be a lot more specific when telling a story.

  35. there’s nothing specific about time, except the unit which is representing it. time feels long and it feels short, usually not the one you wwant at the time. Time to go, not enough time, these times cannot be measured in minutes, seconds, miliseconds so what is the speed of time? Of course there is time in miniutes and seconds, tears and all the rest but don;t worry about them too much, unless you’re checking the sell-by daye on yoghurt. even then, you can be misled. time can get you down so try not to look at your watch too much.

  37. Being specific is a difficult task, because it requires us to be truly honest about ourselves. If we are to get really specific and let someone know our actual reasons and meanings we have to let them know ourselves, which is why generalizations are so comforting, like a blanket or a loose sweater. We can hide and be safe.

    by Andrew Meare on 03.16.2009
  38. He entered the room and picked up his phone.

“Be specific.” he said. “Why “beat around the bush?” Just tell me the truth. You don’t love me anymore. I can tell by the way you touch me, OR the way you look at me with such a distant stare. When did this happen? I wish I knew. I wish knew how to make things better. However, I do not. It is my curse to bear, I suppose. My powers of perception seem useless on you, the person that is most important. I suppose I should give up. =/”

He hung up the phone just as the prerecorded voice chimed in. His mission accomplished, his heart less heavy.

  40. It is very specific how we are supposed to analyze the chemistry of something or other, whether a chemical compounded an element or something more complex altogether. its the inner workings of how they interact that captivate scientists the most, perhaps because in these atoms they can some how explain the social norms and mysteries of humanity logically, scientifically and uncontroversially.
