When I was a child, I wanted to be an ice skater. To glide around on the icy surface, with precision and skill that I envied and longed for in professional skaters. Deborah Thomas. Or Debbie for the real fans. She was my idol.
I love to skate but haven’t gone in years. I finally sharpened my old worn out hockey skates but have yet to go. They sit there unused for years yet sharp and ready to go. I remember playing in my back yard on the rink my dad built for us.
I went skating the other day with some of my best friends. We headed over to the local skate park and paid ten dollars to get in. As soon as we got ready I went over to the half-pipe and started tearing it up.
i wish i can skate and its fun or whatever and i would love to hang out with friends that skate the people are lucky like my friend, he has friends that are like oh lets go skate ahhaha well i envy him and im jealous but i dont want him to know.
Fort wayne has a skate park…i can’t skate well. over the summer this kid at daycamp who hit his head wanted me to help him ice skate…i didn’t feel the most confident about this. Anyway, skating makes me think of old roller dome school parties and choking on lettuce and dropping my fries at Wendy’s afterword.
Skate, skate over the ice as if it were in flames behind you, pressing your legs tighter against the yaul of the lake, hoping like hell that the other side meets you halfway. No where else could a blade skitter
I learned how to survive in the big city by skating. The cold winter months would creep in and all I could think about was that clear ice waiting for me to strap on my blades and cut lines of poetry into the face of the frozen water.
i love to skate on the hard gravel driveway. the gravel gives way to my rolling skates as i fly down, spitting out pebbles in my wake. the gravel may be slow, but it makes me feel like i am swimming along the solid pieces of water.
tony hawk pro skater, my childhood wasted playing this game all day on my nintendo 64. also not a fun sport but probably takes a lot of skill. and skaters are douche bags except a few
I used to roller skate back when I was a child. I remember my first pair of roller skates. I was too young to go outside unattended so I would skate around the house and the kitchen. The first time I fell I thought I would never skate again. Many falls later I was still skating.
skateboards are pretty sweet i’ve never been ice skating before but i’d like to go at some point in life. i enjoyed tony hawks pro skater videogame on the playstation that was really fun, but repetitive.
i wish i could skate. but i don’t have the balance or the coordination. i’m tall and lanky and i guess i look kinda like i could skate. it’s not really that i wish i skated now, but that i wish i had skated when i was a bit younger. that’s why i hate the past. you can’t change it.
skate. If i could skate to you right now i would. i’d probably fall and skin my knees. but then you could kiss me and tell me its ok. then we could skate together and you’d hold my hand. if only i had legs.

i think there’s also a type of fish called the skate. i don’t remember what it looks like.
skating in the neighbors yard, i was only 5 and determined to be as smooth an operator as my sister. There was the problem of skates, I had to borrow them without telling her.
it is cold and fast and the time is winter we all love to play hockey and you definitely need two of these they are very expensive to buy if new but you can getr used at a very good price or you can even rent them for the occasion foray onto ice especially in the city women usiaually have white ones and I don’t know why because the men can get different colours they are very much more comfortable now the way they are made compared to years ago

I skated when I was young, now my son skates, but he skates in a different world than I did. He does things that I could only dream of. Granted his equipment and mine are worlds apart. He defies gravity where I just skated.
Rollerskating on fridays was the most fun a kid could have if you lived in my smaller town It was like, the coolest hangout and all the drama happened there. Girls would get all upset over what boy chose to partner skate with what girl and what it meant, it was all very classic.
She threw her skates, the blades nicking the ice. “I don’t care,” she snarled. The other skaters, blurs of blue and red, trailing flapping scarves, all stared at her stocking feet on the ice, but Diane ignored them. They zipped past, skates shushing over the ice.
The skate was old and a strange beige color. It was almost trying to be ‘skin-toned’ but who’s skin was that color anyways? No ones. In fact, it wouldn’t even represent the skin color of the majority of this country’s population anymore.
The hill beckoned, steep, grey and hard. I licked my thumb, for luck, and let go of my friend’s hand. Gravity took over. I flew. suddenly I was flying through the air. Crack in the sidewalk. Lots of blood. Intensely uncomfortable. Freedom.
once i was skating at the park and i saw a cute boy. ive never skated in my life so i;’m not really good at it. but i felt compelled to attempt to slate ove to him. but my legs couldnt move. i was stuck. what am i supposed to do?
lupe fiasco likes to skate. I like the move the kick flip. back in middle school i almost learned how to do it. Also tony hawk is pretty cool but i hate the kohls name brand hawk its retarded. It was a cool subculture of outcasts with talent and there was a cool video of skaters and explosions.
Skaters always intimidated me. The cultural phenomeon of the “skater” emerged in my formative years, with them the grungy, haven’t-taken-a-shower-in-a-week, I don’t care about society look. And that was a diametric opposite of my high school persona.
Skating always reminds me of him.

I was skating in the park and I decided to walk instead. I realized after I had put the skates on that I have balance issues. Why oh why did I even consider taking up this hobby again. Do I have suicidal issues as well?

To skate along thin ice seems to be where my life is pulling me. So far the fine line holds and I am along for the pleasant ride. It’s all a fragile equilibrium, though. A careful balancing act. Tilt too far in one direction, venture out too far, and in one fatal flash crack second you could be plunged into freezing cold water.
Never was good at it, but liked to try- the roller variety, not blade. Fell on my keister more than a time or two, but always got up and made a fool of myself again! Haven’t tried it in years and probably wouldn’t get up so easily now!
