  9. Proud is good and proud is bad sometimes as pride comes before a fall. I’ve just been looking at Lions and they live in a Pride too, which is related to “proud”. Are they too proud ? I don’t know about that. Awareness of the sin of pride can sometimes lead to a huge emphasisis on personal modesty which can in turn lead to an overkill of self effacement, which as well as being modest can also lead to inferiority, and it is is a pain to hear someone who is successful deny it in the name of modesty when in fact what they should be is properly proud. Being proud without being a pain: that is the question. Pride – One of the 7 Deadly Sins. Pride – It comes before a fall

  14. She read her name in the weirdest way, her voice dripping with a lame sense of pride. The people watched her in awe and horror, hating the way she felt about herself. She would never bow down to them, not even at her death. Her neck snapped on the way down.
Her pride killed her…and saved her.

  15. i am not proud of myself nor others. we all seem to have faults.and we all hold ourselves deeply responsible. To be proud of oneself is to admit that we are capable of greatness. For some odd reason, this world, this society, this peoples, seem to fear the idea that we can be perfect. We seem to fear the idea that we can achieve what we set out to do.

  24. i am proud to be an indian. the person who is proud of his country is the one who respects the heritage of the country. it doesnt take any different or extra ordinary speciality to be a true patriotic. the pride must come from within. i am proud of my family. just like i am proud of my country. the love, the respect is natural. to be proud of something or someone is a gesture of love. it makes the other person feel great and the trust is built up automatically. to be proud just needs a pure heart.

  27. So proud I was. What a moment. The big moment of my life. I loved it. I stood up there on the podium with everyone watching me, waiting for me to speak, their mouths open, their eyes begging me to say something profound and I held them there in the grip of my power and then finally, finally when they could wait no longer, when they were just about to turn to their neighbour and say something, I too opened my mouth and out of my mouth came one word and that word was ‘proud.’

  29. There’s a gallery in London called Proud and I’ve always wondered if the name was an intentional statement, that the owner was proud of having doen it, or a statement about the inhabitants, they should be proud to have gone there. Either way, it seems very optimistic. Which isn’t a bad thing.

I don’t think i have ever felt pride in someone else, I’ve felt good about my own accomplishments but i guess I’m self-centered. i cant see how anyone can feel that feeling for me or anyone else when its takes so much for me to feel it even for myself.
