  4. optimism is a word that creates alot of exitement for me because it makes me feel free of anything negative. a lot of people are pessimists in the world and they are always holding hteir head down waiting on someone to try to cheer them up without accomplishing anything other than feeling dow in the dumps. bring a smile on your face and then let everyone see it. it makes for a better day and better life in the decisons you make mdaily. i love the feeling of people looking at me and wandering in the back of their mind why is this guy so positvie about everything. i wander if that makes me different from anyone else in the world. i dont know what i am really doing but i want to find out what is going to happen when i get done with it. that is optimism.

  10. A person should adopt the real art of optimism to achieve higher in life.

  11. Optimism is a thing that a lot of people need but not a lot of people had. I wish I was optimistic, but that’s too optimistic of a thought. I’m not pessimistic – or at least, I don’t like to think I am, though I sometimes really act like it – but I am a bit realistic. I prefer to think of the worst thing that can happen, often, because that way when there’s a good result I end up being really surprised and pleased with it. If I think of the best thing which could happen, I’ll almost surely be disappointed.

  14. I am definitely an optimist, and it is a value that I think is really important. If you ask anyone who knows me, they will all say that I’m an optimist, sometimes to the point of seeming like I’m in denial. But optimism is just about believing in yourself and what you’re involved in, and hoping for the best. My favorite quote is one by Helen Keller, talking about hoping for the best and the importance of optimism.

    by Laura on 12.21.2010
  15. I am never an optimistic person. I try to expect the worst and hope for the best. I guess that’s how one should be in life. The universe is indifferent, and we’re basically fighting “destiny” and its forces. Will versus fate. One can only face what’s to come head on.

    by Laurene on 12.21.2010
  16. Optimism is that warm happy fuzzy feeling of a fresh spring day, feeling young free and ready to take on the world, optimism makes the world go round. Without it we would be nothing – meaningless. Optimism is joy, friends, hope for the future, a better existence and a life renewed.

by Charlie James Smith on 12.21.2010
  17. It’s good to be a glass half full person rather than a glass half empty one. I mean, with all this talk of recession, depression and dips in profits, we all have to get something good in life don’t we? Look at the times we’re living in – we gotta have faith

    by juicyjaffa on 12.21.2010

    by on 12.21.2010
  23. It’s a seemingly simple concept that pervades every aspect of life. It is not only a viewpoint that allows one to translate the world around them, but it is a force that one can implement in their own life. I do not know if Optimism can bend the universe to its will. But I do know that it is contagious. Ergo if you use this force you will benefit the people around you for the better.

  27. Things never looked brighter. She was starting a new school, had her best friend coming with her and was finally leaving behind the drama of her family. The part that sucked was that she was going to a place more full with drama than the life she left behind. It was a good thing she thrived on outside drama, so long as it didn’t involve her or her secret.

    by Anna on 12.21.2010

  29. Optimism is overrated. Who needs to be happy about the shit life we have? I don’t. I’d rather hate everyone than pretend all the time. I don’t think it’s actually possible to be an optimist. Only dumb people claim to be.

  30. It started to rain and she left the house. The puddles began to gather and she trudged through them. It was hard to say exactly how she was feeling.
