  4. Happy happy joy joy- is there anything with being optimistic? It’s just being realistic, with a little bit of a hope involved. I mean, as long as you know what could go wrong, what’s wrong with thinking about what could go right? Smile, kids. Nobody is making you sad, so why not be optimistic?

  6. oh yes, thats a word often said out loud. but who is an optimist really? most people use the word to describe somone who is not themselves, i think, or someone they’d like to be. well, i dont really consider myself an optimist. im more of a pessimist. yes. not a realist, just a pessimist. i almost wrote pissimist there…

  12. I don’t think I have a case of over optimism. I do like to keep the door open for marvelous outcomes because if you shut the door on hope then you have little chance of receiving life’s gifts.

  13. optimism can sometimes be annoying. While it is true that it’s supposed to be encouraging, it’s not really helpful to see someone who seems like he doesn’t understand you when you have problems. it’s not very helpful at all.

  14. It’s challenging, this optimism thing. It’s something that you have to learn to never let go of. Even when its been night for weeks and you can’t remember why you ever smiled, try and remember that golden weaving thread of optimism. Because it is the birthplace of hope and with out hope? We are nothing.

  16. Erica can’t be optimistic about this. In fact, she doesn’t really know how to be optimistic at all about anything related to Alexandria or this crazy half-romance she’s found herself in. Yes, Alexandria is reciprocating somewhat, she’s flirting with Erica and kissing her so close to the lips–but will this last? Erica’s doubtful. Optimism? What optimism? She can’t find any in her heart.

Feel optimism when your trying to acquire what means most to you.   27. optimism can keep you alive sometimes. have you ever been locked in a cage for days without food or water with only the knowledge that your friend is out there somewhere and is trying to rescue you.   32. My high school sweetheart used to call me “Pollyanna”. At the time, it pissed me off. I hated it, and I hated him for it, because of the venom in his voice when he used the word. “Whatever you say, Pollyanna.”
    Now, I like it. I like that I don’t expect every situation to turn to shit like he did. I’m glad to love things for unexpected reasons because it makes my day to day life just a little easier.
    Some days I miss his sarcasm and dry humor. But most days, I’m happy to not have to deal with his bullshit.

  33. Optimism isn’t something everyone has. I try to be optimistic all the time, but it never works out. Apparently, optimists see the glass as half full. Sometimes, I’m convinced I never even saw a glass in the first place. I suppose that’s where the problem lies. Maybe it’s not seeing things positively. It’s seeing things at all.

  34. I just did this. Darn. Anyway. Living in optimisim, hmm, is enlightening. Forcibly telling yourself positive things, or spinning things to be positive, is difficult, but makes things seem a lot better. Trust me, I’ve been having to live in optimism recently so I don’t go crazy. It helps a lot. Seriously.

  37. Is something that I love having in my life. Especially since I moved to China. I have been poorer and sadder then ever before and optimism has always gotten me through and things are finally looking up! It only took 1 year and 4 months to make my dreams come true.
