when one thinks of all the things in the world which have moved to oblivion, either in the minds of people or in the actual physical world, one of the most striking is that of carrier pigeons.
When we chose to let the usefulness of something have attribution of worth, then we won’t loose what it is that makes it valuable. There is nothing that can be undone more quickly than knowing it has outlived its purpose.
Obsolete is the feeling one feels when the wose of it has pass. It is the dream of the forgotten and the fear of the useless. It’s the stuff that heroes are made for they fight the obsolete. That feeling of just old abandoment into the useless and unrequired, for once it did depend on what you could approach, or at least exist. The obsolete is not remembred for anything.
I never gave much thought back then to what was old and dusty or what new hit was riding the latest trends. Nothing seemed obsolete, every bulky monitor, flimsy diskette, and whirring drive stood a marvel to behold.
The obsolete me, that person who used to have inhibitions and morals. I’ve changed overnight, it seems. I’d like to go back, but at the same time, the future looks so inviting… The people, the places, the experiences! Onward and upward – everything becomes obsolete in a few months anyways!
I feel obsolete in the shadow of fallen giants. Will I ever feel competent to rise up and conquer my fear? Many great men have flailed and conquered at the base of their thoughts.
It’s not there, it’s disappeared. It’s not fair, it’s unjust. You don’t understand why it’s gone, it just is. Where do these words even come from? Where has everything gone and disappeared to?
