Margie gazed over the side of the hot air balloon as she rose. She realized that she should have begun feeling her vertigo by now, but for some odd reason, she felt completely fine and not at all nervous as the balloon flew ever higher.

She was only getting higher and higher. But that was exactly what she wanted. Wasn’t it? Wasn’t it? You know what they say… “The highier you get the further the fall”.

damn keyboard. Corrections:
i look at the pills in my hand and escape into a plethora of colours, textures, shapes and the limitless sky engulfs me while the scorching flames lick the bottoms of my feet as i try to enter potential enlightenment.

Her lungs were ablaze and her head spun. Had it really been this long? This long since she had ruined her life prior?

the higher we get, the more we can succeed, but how can one get higher when everyday only brings them lower? how much higher can we feel to feel like we are satisfied? higher is all we ever seem to strive for, but how far are we all really going to get? we all want to reach higher, but it’s harder than it seems.

People on drugs doing more drugs to get higher or people climbing a mountain could be some one getting over a huge obstacle

The higher we rose above the city, the more it seemed like a model, a toy, I felt less and less empathy for those left behind, as the waters gushed in from the coast.

Her aspirations were higher than her motivations at that moment. Convincing herself to do what she must was becoming a burden beyond bearable.

The basketball bounces off the hoop every time. It never goes in. Sneakers squeak on the gym floor as I dribble and run again and again. I’m too short for this. I know it. I will never, ever, ever make the team.
I catch the ball as it bounces. Turn around. Run in for the shot. Jump again. Higher, this time.

That’s all he really wanted. When he took those pills, those colorful, little drops of a higher power, he wanted to rise above. He wanted to conquer. To rule. He wanted to become the higher power he held in his sweaty palm.

There’s nowhere to go but up.
There’s nowhere to reach for but steadily upward.
And sometimes I fear that despite this reality I still find a way to spiral down and down and down and down.
There’s nowhere to go but up.

I felt my knees buckle. My chest was burning. I felt it true, for the first time ever. And as my heels pained, I was seeing the sky unveil before me. I felt the pressure build up against my ears. As I continued, I felt a burden loosen even as I tired. My shoulders were relieved. I could finally see the top. I was climbing higher and higher.

Higher pleasures. I’ve heard about them in all of my philosophy classes. I know they exist. Listening to Vivaldi is a higher pleasure than watching a Kardashian.

I thought I couldn’t get any higher,
but I was wrong.
The mary jane just didn’t satisfy
my need to be sky high
So I laughed at myself
as I pulled smoke to bronchioles
I’m trying to get higher than the North Pole
But I feel like I’m taking a dip.

It was one of those experiences that is abundant in metaphorical resonance, and all about metaphorical resonance. It was one of those odd experiences where reading the book made you feel like you were missing some very real, internal part of yourself that was there before. It was the kind of book that lifted you so high that when you fell, it actually hurt.

You’ve always wanted to go to the moon. You wonder if it’s underwhelming to sit there, staring at the stars and the blue swirling marble below. Maybe you’d send moon rocks and space dust for our birthdays – a reminder that you’re still alive, and not very far away. Maybe we’ll see you twinkling in the sky, coated with astro dust and existing among the stars like the unreachable dream you are.
Maybe you’ll remember us, and I’ll be lucky to even see you again in a hundred years.

There is a higher power that is better than chocolate. Think chocolate times infinity. In all of his brilliance I am at a loss for words that have a satisfying definition to describe him. Beautiful, brilliant, amazing, unchanging, loving, these don’t give him justice. He is all these and more.

Higher education. Being better and rising above everything. Being on top of the world. To receive higher education is to be “higher.”
By Stephanie Wilson on 12.04.2012
These days, all higher means is ‘pass the joint.’ We’re all so burnt out on big dreams, we had 20 good years of people asking us what we want to do when we grow up, now people ask us our majors and career paths.

You take me to higher places. When you aren’t around, I am so low to the ground that it is as if the solid earth under my feet is going to disappear at any second. You take me to higher places—you life my spirits, you bring that smile back to my face. I only wish you were around all the time…

I’ll take you higher baby. Don’t let his words sway you. This carpet we’re on ain’t magic and neither is this rabbit, but girl let me have it. You don’t belong to him, your heart is home and home is where the heart is: in my hands. Give me your love, show me your eyes one more time. Let me give you all of myself. Let me get lost in the veil of your shadow.

I push. Her legs kick up in front of her like the tails of a curly-haired kite. She’s all colors, all smiles.
“Higher, Uncle Jerry! Higher!”
She’s streaming through the sunlight streaming through her hair, which is streaming out behind her. Her eyes are bluer than the sky. Her tongue pokes slightly out of her mouth as she laughs. After this, she’ll ask for ice cream.

The balloon got higher and higher before flying so high it was out of sight. The young girl cried as she saw the red blob slowly disappear. Her parents comforted her, but she still missed her new friend Bob.

clouds and blue
sky, I wish I were
I wish I could reach

I wish I could float beyond
this mire and roil
I wish I could scream
louder, I wish I were

there is no one on earth who is high than me. I am currently smoking, well I was before I started typing this. Thank you stumble upon for introducing me to this site. it is a little weird. i have not written anything in almost 4 years. nothing that is work reading at least. this reminds me of my creative writing class with miss bloom. I wish that i was back in those times. it was much simpliar. not i have to be help responsible for my actions. there are consequences to my bad judgements. I am not perfect, I am human and I will continue making mistakes. I am women. HEAR ME ROAR

Can you take me higher? No? I don’t think so…. Between my own breath, choking the life from me, and my lack of will to stand in your presence, I do not think that higher is on my already exhausted list of things-to-do-today. No… Higher is a word, much like never, that is written upon my heart.

From up here, looking down on this world, I saw destruction.
