  3. I dont do favors for many people. I’ve never been a big fan. The word itself seems to have hidden agendas in my personal opinion. A favor is never really just a favor. And when people ask for one, they are always meaning to imply that you will not enjoy doing it, that it will be painful.

  9. To be held in favor is a wonderful thing. Like Sir Walter Raleigh to Queen Elizabeth. of course being out of favour is never good and usually ends with your head cut off.

    It is infinitely preferable to be owed a favour than to owe one.

    Some people collect favours – occasionally they are the devil.

    This was not good. Mark was not a man who you wanted to owe a favour to. He inevitably wanted something that you wouldn’t be able to give. And if you couldn’t provide it, that meant he’d want something else from you. Something else you couldn’t refuse to give, even if you wanted to.

  21. It’s spelt wrong. THat’s the American spelling, but then I don’t suppose they differentiate for pedantic UK users.
    If I was in the US I’d do a favor for my friends. I’d probably expect a favour in return. Or a favor. Saints don’t expect favors in return. THat’s the definition of a saint.
