  12. Helen is distracting beyond possible belief. The biggest distraction in my life besides school is my Eagle Project. How can one define distraction? It is kind of interesting how a distraction can be considered based off of a priority. One would consider school to be a priority and games to be a distraction, but the actuality for me is the opposite.

  28. To be distracted from the truth, to be distracted from sense; reason. It seems like to be distracted is a bad thing. But it doesn’t matter really, because we are then enlightened to something else. Something unconventional, nonsensical, unusual, or fanciful.

  29. So many things distract from God these days. Physical pleasures, emotional highs, terrible wars. It’s so easy to get carried away in a tide of cheap thrills and cheap philosophies. People don’t realize that everything they could ever complain about would disappear if they had not let their consciencness die. Floating numb and dumbfounded through time and space, they are the problems in their life. Not God.

Someone very wise once told me that post-breakup. You need lots, and LOTS of distractions. He told me, you just distract yourself, do whatever you can to keep smiling.

    I’ll keep smiling.

  39. I had a plan. First I would yodel a section of the Emancipation Proclamation, while I moved in an arrhythmic pattern across the Oriental rug. Then I would grab every red-jacketed or spined book from the shelves and stack them on the floor. After dousing them with scented oil, I would then pretend to strike a match and watch the imaginary flames consume the house.
