  1. Why?
    Distractions are everywhere.
trying to avoid them is pointless

So why write? Why bother with anything. Just go with the flow and let life distract you.

  8. in many ways this page is a distraction from things i should be doing like sleeping or eating or living perhaps as the mind numbing power of this typing pad slows the discontent that oozes and keeps me away from the things i love the most like my family, the fall, outdoors, the ocean. distraction is like a disease which i hate, but need as a necessary to keep peddling the bicycle of life that is constantly circling

  12. What am I even thinking about when I think about the word ‘distract’? Ostentatiously some kind of distraction, but my mind, strangely enough, is already paying more attention to my typing than the task at hand, which is to write about a distraction. It’s such a paradox that it makes my head spin even thinking about it. I suppose in a roundabout way, I am writing about it.

  27. We were sitting in an empty room. You were there, bursting out your feelings. I attempted to listen, but staring out the window was far more tempting. 28. I distract myself in a million ways. Facebook, youtube, rubik’s cube, I’ve done it all. But my favorite distraction is that little speech bubble, the blue one with the video camera, you know the one I’m talking about. Because with it I am connected. I am talking to all of my favorite people, just as if they were here with me. It is all I can do to tear my eyes from your words and force them down into my history book. No wonder I never get anything done, I love you too much.

  34. It is amazing to me how often people let their own petty problems and desires drive them to distraction. for it is not a problem of focus or even ability to sit in one space, it is a matter of willpower and the ability to use it. For if you allow daily problems to rule your life, what type of life have you? A broken one, unable to access the fulfillments of even the most simple beggar or child.
