Dance is something which I’ve never thought I could do but have the talent for. God, it brings out so many emotions. First of all, the freedom to just move around like nobody’s watching is incredible. Watching Gene Kelly and Bob Fosse do it blows my mind because they don’t care if they miss a step: their precision and grace are so astounding. My personal dancing story comes when I did A CHORUS LINE and I told my director I couldn’t dance. I am not a dancer by any means, but I found a way to move on that stage so gracefully and with such ease that I never felt uncomfortable in my own skin. Maybe my dance moves looked awkward, but I would’ve looked more awkward if I thought of getting the steps right–as Fosse said, “Dance like no one’s watching.”
I step onto the floor and I’m just about ready to go crazy. I don’t know what to do here. What am I even doing here? She grabs me and I’m stuck in an awkward moment. Who’s gonna tell her that I’m completely lost. My feet get tangled together and I fall. Damn.
I would love to dance like a beautiful bird. Cranes are the most elegant dancers I’ve ever seen. Dancing is such a beautiful art form- it is so expressive. It doesn’t have to be about sex, it’s about the body moving in marvelous ways and saying something without words.

If I could tell them that my dance symbolized that someone our there love them always…then I’d have I be dancing to “amazing grace.”
I like to dance but I am not very good at it. I wish there was some place to dance with my husband besides a bar. I would like to dance with my husband more. I guess that is why I like going to wedding dances.
I’ve been through some difficult times. With the man in the alley, parents fighting constantly, grades going to hell. And all for what? Nothing. It’s taken a while to get here. Many years of pain and hurt but I’m healing. I’m learning to dance in the rain.
