Scabs are a direct barrier between your skin and the wound, bandages just cover them. Scabs are the beginning of healing while bandages are just there to attempt to mend. Companies going out of business, people who have been working jobs for many years getting laid off, that is where the bleeding is. We could use an entire box of Extra Size Band-aids to staunch that flow, but the wound would still be there. I don’t pretend to have any answers, I am now, one of those people who have worked all their lives and have nothing to show for it. Perhaps Obama has an answer but a “quick fix” like bailing out the banks and the auto manufacturers will not cure the disease – this country needs to fix the underlying social problems that cause the bleeding. Too many working poor, too many over the top fucking billionaires, who made it rich on the backs of the workers. No answers here, just hopes and prayers that things will get better.
