  1. There is a bandage over my wound. It’s nothing like a scab though. Nasty things can get trapped under bandages but scabs need time. Scabs are a direct barrier between your skin and the wound, bandages just cover them. Scabs are the beginning of healing while bandages are just there to attempt to mend. You can still get an infection with a bandage on you know.

I have a bandage on my stomach right now, because I was supposed to be going to my boyfriends house, and I cannot let him see my stomach below my bellybutton, because when I was eleven I was really really stupid and shaved there without any shaving cream or anything, and my ingrown hair scars are just beginning to SORT of heal, even though I’ve been expholiating and doing intence scar treatment for a couple years.

  14. Okay. I sincerely hope that President Obama in the US can provide more than just a bandage for the bleeding economy. Human and Civil Rights have taken a beating here in the US also, but those are just bruises, they need tender loving care, but are not bleeding just yet. Companies going out of business, people who have been working jobs for many years getting laid off, that is where the bleeding is. We could use an entire box of Extra Size Band-aids to staunch that flow, but the wound would still be there. I don’t pretend to have any answers, I am now, one of those people who have worked all their lives and have nothing to show for it. Perhaps Obama has an answer but a “quick fix” like bailing out the banks and the auto manufacturers will not cure the disease – this country needs to fix the underlying social problems that cause the bleeding. Too many working poor, too many over the top fucking billionaires, who made it rich on the backs of the workers. No answers here, just hopes and prayers that things will get better.

  15. I need a bandage on my heart,
    but unfortunately for me,
the one who hurt me is the only one who can heal me.
I love him, with all my heart.
And it’s not fair that even seeing his name makes my hands shake for fifteen minutes
when all he wants to do is pretend like he never fell in love with me and wanted to marry me.
    What? You never loved me?
    What a lie.
You are just saying that to keep your heart from breaking along with mine.

  26. She wrapped the bandage around her ankle, winced. The skin around it was still blotchy, purples and dull blues. Gingerly she raised her leg and placed it on the sofa cushions, sinking back into the sofa with a low moan. “No more,” she whispered to herself as the television played blue light across her face, the crease of her cheek the only thing lit in the dark room.

  29. Use a bandage to cover until you are healed.
It will help keep all other pains away, temporarily at least. Yet little by little bandages loose their glue and uncover your wounds. I can no longer use you as my bandage. I used to think you were my wound, but I’m only using you as my excuse.

    by Stephanie on 01.02.2009

  35. Broken limbs need more than bandages. They need support, protection, cleansing. Broken hearts need more than bandages. They need comfort, protection, support. Breaking your heart is like breaking a limb; it can be devastating, keep you down for a long time, and never be quite the same once it heals.
