drifting
Floating, falling, sweet intoxication. Touch me, trust me, savor each sensation. Excuse me while I go melt at that man's words, perfectly describing everything I have and have not known, beautifully executed, heartbreakingly true. Floating... Falling.... Always.
trunk
The back of the car was dripping. In the dark, she couldn't tell what. Quite frankly, water would be preferable. Or even oil.Yeah, a great big leak in the gas would be perfect. Sadly, the police didn't call Joan and Sheryl over a simple leak in the gas tank.
cabin
It was warm by the fire. Granted, it only made a difference when one sat right beside the fire, but it seemed like a better idea to curl up beneath the stars with the fire's warmth. The cabin was just too stuffy. And out there, beneath the twinkling sky, the two of them could be anyone they wished to be.
fences
Build them up, tear them down. No, they are not walls. Walls shut people out. Walls push people away. But fences? It means you're just waiting for the right person to jump over the edge and find you.
accordion
He breathed, in and out, in and out. His breath became shallow. Not much air left. "Please," she cried softly. "Do not leave me here alone. There is no life worth living without you."
dessert
It was thick, creamy, and way too rich for her taste. Chocolate cake like this was difficult to come by, though. Slowly she wrapped her fingers around the fork, poked a chunk of cake, and placed it in her mouth. She chewed laboriously, savoring the taste even though she felt like she was ready to explode.
dull
The gray clouds rested simply in the gray sky. The bare trees created a dark outline against the sky. Time passed slowly, no signs of life anywhere. It was simple. It was melancholy. It was dull.
scout
She climbed up the springy tree, going as high as she could. Her eyes swept the surrounding area, looking for any sign of water possible. Only the bright blue ocean stretched before her. Then she realized... "Guys, it's a circle! The whole arena is a circle."
compassion
The heart lifts, yet still it falls. The sight is too much to bear, yet the eyes still watch. The tears come, but do not stay. They still somehow manage to disappear. The frown that was once a smile reverts to its previous form, and the arm that was glues down rises to wrap around a set of shoulders. The shaking voice offers only love, only assistance. The light gleams in the eyes that did truly cry, and a smile plays across the lips of the one in pain.
spring
It sprung forth from the ground, the last bloom of the season. It grew beneath the chilled September sky, face stretching towards every last bit of light it could reach. It could not prevail. As the sun set that very first day that it greeted the world, it too reached that endless sleep that marked the end of life itself.
