backpack
backpack: 10 to 15 to 30 to 50 to 75+ pounds of baggage. The baggage of school, sure. Books and pens and art projects. No big deal. What of school's other baggage? That kid. You know that one. The one that always steps on your toe when you step into homeroom. For no reason. Just because. You carry him. All one hundred and fifty pounds of him. And honestly, your L.L. Bean isn't rated for that kind of capacity.
montage
The photos. Spanning years and generations and one $1.99 piece of foam board. A life. Touching many lives. So many memories and one poster board. One lifeless montage to remember one so full of life. Lifeless. Just like the poster it covered and the guests there to catch one last glimpse. More lifeless than the dead.
remember
I remember many things. But definitely not as many things as I have forgotten. I remember sitting on the swings. With him. Dancing in the rain. With him. Taking walks. Again, with him. I remember blueberry songs with sweet peach suns and tea on the porch and laughing in the swing. I remember everything. But nothing. Nothing without him. And so there is nothing.
sideburns
Sideburns. In the new version of Pride and Prejudice (you know, the one with Kiera Knightley), Mr. Darcy has sideburns. Its just wrong. WRONG I say! Why? Was that the style? Because honestly, I can't see Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam getting all cozy at the end of the movie and poor Lizzy unsuspecting scratching her eyeballs out of sweet Darcy's terrible, terrible sideburns. Somehow, that seems more of a Pride and Prejudice and Zombies topic than one that Jane Austen would appreciate.
