portal
I read through these small works pertaining to the word of the day, "portal." I see stories. Jumbled phrases and real life experiences. I see souls wanting a an escape, but they posses a fear in the real world. I can look past the letters that should be capitalized and the common misspellings. These authors provide a "portal" of words. It may lead to desire, hopelessness, or a risque pseudonym. But it leads to somewhere special. It leads, to their hearts. Their souls. Their minds. It leads, to them.
camouflage
She blends in. You wouldn't know that she was there unless someone pointed her out. Her smile: just as fake as all the others. Her makeup is an attempt to hide the imperfections she doesn't have; just like everyone else. Camouflage means to blend in, but it doesn't take Mossy Oak to hide in plain sight. Just sit there. Quietly. Patiently. Intently. Hide. Or, you could put on the bright orange. Stand out. Who cares if you don't "blend in?" No one has ever been noticed for being normal. Being yourself, however? That's the the golden ticket, or should I say, the "orange ticket" to being noticed. That is the ticket, to being YOU.
confident
Why is confidence interpreted as arrogance. Why is she ridiculed because she is proud. Why does he have to hide in the corner when he would rather be in the center of the room. Why has confidence been made a vice. Expression. Individuality. Personality. Confidence. All words that have been ruined by society. How can one be confident, yet abide by every standard or societal rule. Confidence has taken on new meanings: Different. Weird. Abstract. Absurd. Bizarre. Abnormal. The one thing it never seems to be synonymous with: Me.
beginning
Everyone thinks they need a new one. Sometimes they lead to nothing. Occasionally they are perfect. But often, they have no meaning. Another, greater one can just as easily take its place. They are biodegradable. They will not last, nor will anyone ever see them again. A beginning is simply the start of an end.
