I stared and frowned at the row of dusty books. They looked like they hadn't been touched in decades, which wasn't surprising considering the state of the rest of this ancient bookstore. The man who owned it was probably about 82, and he wasn't exactly friendly.

He sighed softly. He was facing a difficult choice here. Everything was on the line. His wife loved him. He knew she did. And he loved her, there was no question about it. But this woman... There was something so alluring about her. It wasn't that she was "sexy," per se, but something about her was just magical to him. She understood him. What path would he take? Could he maintain his integrity?

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She was going to get this job. Everything was riding on it. Her rent was due. Her car was about to get repossessed. Her husband had left her, and he'd even taken the dog. She needed this. She was qualified. She knew she was. She was ready.

From the moment our eyes met, I just knew. When his blue locked onto my green, I was absolutely certain that he was the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I didn't know his name or anything about him. But there was something so tangible about the kindness in his sea-colored eyes. It was just... Real, you know? There was no doubt that it was there. He was genuine.
