simple is life. no its not. im not sure why i thought of life when i saw the word. life is the opposite of simple. but one thing is simple, life goes on. not matter what happens time will keep ticking. keep moving.
The sharp lines and unpainted, smooth white face of the new dresser made Sam’s heart lift. It was a quiet victory, one that hardly demanded a smile let alone much else. But all the same, the satisfaction in tossing out the old, ornate, crumbling trunk his late mother had left behind was a great satisfaction.
If he were a white boy, his knuckles would be bloodless and pale right now. He didn’t dare take his hands from the wheel as blue and red lights flooded the rear view mirror. He tried to breathe normal and pretend that it was a simple traffic stop, and not a prelude to a death sentence.
He never knew that a person so simple could be so complicated. Most people knew that she had a certain depth to her, something that defined her, something you could see in her glazed eyes, in a stupor not because she was drunk or under caffeinated, but because she thought so much. But her mind wasn’t as simple as her ponytail showed her to be, not even in her ripped jeans and tattered sneaks. No, she was an ocean, and he was just a puddle.
Everything in life is made up of simple things. Haven’t you thought about it? It’s simple things leading to fatalities. Fatalities, I say, because that’s how life has been for me. Everything sucks. When I was a child, my parents had this crazy idea of how I was going to grow up to be some kind of art prodigy. Art. I know, right?
The simplicity of her expressions acted as a facade hiding her more complex emotions that even herself cannot subdue and identify. And then there’s this lingering fear and concern that she cannot play this intricately orchestrated act for much longer. What used to be this simple charade became into this puzzling labyrinth she cannot escape of.
catching a snowflake on your tongue, brief but sweet and cold. the first flower of spring, opening it’s little face to the sun and the dew. a cool wind on the hottest day of summer, liquid and languid, licking your skin. the changing of the leaves, green to golden red, crisp and bright and simple.
Wow. That’s a word we’ve been throwing around a lot lately here. How we wish we could have things much more simple at the house – in our lives. We would love to get rid of most of our stuff and keep it simple. We need to make a list of those things that are the absolute most important to us and then only focus on those. We don’t need to pursue acquisition.
A simple execution leads to a simple outcome. No worries, no hassles – just the result you need. Unfortunately, things are never as simple as you want them to be, meaning that getting to the results is often easier said that done. Which is the problem I had with my latest piece.

In order to create this tool of modernity, we require factories in at least three different countries spanning just as many continents in order to achieve a product that we will sell for pennies.
