  4. My sister became a teacher when she was twenty-three. It was an early age, and she knew she was pushing herself, but she loved kids, and she wanted to make a difference to the inner city Chicago children who came to school with the clothes they’d worn the day before. She understood them like no one else did, and she helped them learn so well that many later came back and thanked her, after becoming doctors.

  5. I decided I wanted to be a teacher when I was in preschool. I always knew that I wanted to help people learn about life and the wonderfulness that it had to offer, but I just had to figure out what I wanted to teach. Eventually, I landed on the profession of music teacher. I took the two things that I loved most in the world, and combined them to do for the rest of my life. I start my job next week. I hope I made the right decision.

  8. She spoke of numbers and English words. I sat at the very edge of the room and tried to listen intently to the monotony of school. I kept silent and I listened.

Years have passed and now I’ve become a teacher myself. I sometimes think if my students think of me the same way. I wonder if they’ll end up like me; a teacher who thinks if their students think about what they though as a kid.

I sometimes wonder if that girl teacher I had thought the same things I’m thinking of now.

  11. A teacher is someone who teaches. If you don’t have a teacher to help you learn what you want to know, it is probably going to be a lot harder. A teacher makes learning easier. A good — or even great — teacher is a privilege. If you are fortunate, you will find one.

  14. I had this one teacher for three years, and she was the absolute best. She wasn’t a pushover or anything of the sort, but she was nice, and could actually teach. She is one of the only teachers I ever really learned something from. Everything else was kind of just drilled into my brain.

  21. Teachers are key people in a student’s life. It doesn’t matter what grade you are in or who you are, a teacher can be anyone who makes you realize any kind of lesson. Your father can be a teacher if you’re learning how to play baseball for the first time. A girlfriend can be a teacher on how to love. Without these people, our world would be lost because nobody could pass any knowledge/feelings on. It’s education in every way.

  26. The teacher is the second important person in anyone;s life. After the mother, the intial techers shape the future of the child. I have known some wonderful teachers; ones that cared for the students and looked to seeing them grow in every sense of the word. i have concluded now, that there are hardly any of this breed left. The present set are mostly into earning their bread; it is a no longer a calling but something to do since they could not get a job elsewhere. This has resulted in the quality of education falling throughout the country and maybe the world. I think it is high time tha t we as parents run around and glorify the profession to attract better people

  40. Teachers have one of the best jobs that you could possibly have, in terms of hours spent working in a given year. What other occupation offers 3 months vacation during the summer months? That perk by itself is enough incentive for me to become a teacher at some point in my life, hopefully after a professional career.
