  1. The groom glids the broom acrss the floor. Only a day away til the church is ready for the momentous event. He can only imagine the words falling away as his life is about to change forever. Gliding the earth, guiding the dirt from everything within the past that haunts him.

Hopefully the bristles along the floor are eliminating everything that he has experienced, sweeping the dirt like the Lakers over the Grizzlies.

He hopes the spot is safe. Nothing too bloody or gruesome has occurred in this place. One can only wish this occasion will be just as significant and joyous as Christ marrying the church; sweeping sin to the depths of Hell. The memories of his past relationships he tries to brush away. The slate will soon be blank.

Now, he must find a dust pan.

But I’ll keep sweeping the dirt on the floor, every day. Which is all I”m good for now. And looking out the window, I see the young people pass by.

  13. Sweep? I had to sweep at my old job. I remember hating it, and I could never, ever get all of the dust in the dust collector. It was very frustrating. But it was necessary, because mopping followed that. If I didn’t sweep, the dirt and dust on the floor would just turn to mud when I mopped it.

  14. sweep. you push dirt under the rug with a broom your ashamed to hold. hiding it away, not cleaning it. just storing it so some unsuspecting visitor in the future makes the mistake of tripping on the rug and unveiling your cold, dark secret to the world. you stand with your head hung low, finally being held accountable for it.

  19. As I swept my room, it’s obvious I was cleaning. Why do I clean? It’s really no use. I keep on making things a complete mess, so when I sweep, I just rid myself of the guilt that is about to come when I mess things up again. Pretty bad.

  30. sweeping out all the bad
to sweep is to hopefully remove
but where are you sweeping it too?
Is it swept away, far away
Or just under a desk, a cupboard, a crease in your
    brain.
Just to accumulate and fester and grow ever larger
as you sweep more and more and more
hopefully you are sweeping it far away into the proverbial dustbin of space.

  33. You can sweep away all the things that make you depressed about the day, but it doesn’t erase the effect it has on your life. You can sweep it under the rug, but after you do it so many times it doesn’t matter because the rug won’t lay flat, nor will it look the same ever again. Clean the slate, make improvements and all for everything you can to allow improvement. Use a mop.
