  8. I pressed the key on the keyboard. Shift. It’s such a simple key, but you know, it’s done a lot for people over the years. Shift helps you start sentences, capitalize names, make proper nouns. Proper nouns are important to the English language because without them, some sentences wouldn’t make sense. For example, Pulp Fiction is clearly the name of a movie, but pulp fiction could be a book about oranges.

  27. There was a polar shift
And the world moved beneath her
She was still trying to hang on
    To a passing iceberg
    But her fingers slipped
    And she went under
    Again and again she surfaced
    Until at last
    She closed her eyes
    And let go
    It was only then
    That she realized
    She could breathe
    Underwater

  35. there was a shift in the paradigm, and one that was entirely unexpected. When they’d been children he was the boss and his brother just watched with glowing awe. Since they’d both grown, though, and with wives and children in tow, the entire dynamic changed between them, and leaving them both ill at ease. Sometimes it’s better to love as you always have and hate only when yuo must.
