Phoebe my Saluki ran the course like a pro. She raced after the rabbit like lightning, and when it turned sharply, she rebound and was right on it.

I will rebound. My failure is not the absolute. It is not the end of my route. I will be back, better than ever before. I will make up for everything and more. My initial shortcomings will breed my final success.

Often life is full of hardships, trials, and tragedies. We cannot stop or prevent many of these. What we can do is control how we respond. We get to decide how we rebound from being knocked down. We

Rebound. Your mind automatically goes to the person you fuck in order to get over the one you love. But what an ugly thing to do. The rebound will always be known as the rebound. Rarely the one who’s cute, the one with the nice smile, the one who’s flirted with you for months or years, the one you marry. They’re just an object to you but who knows what in the world you meant to them.

Bouncing along, he doesn’t have a care in the world. The leaves fall around him, silently brilliant in the dying sun. He rounds the corner, swishing through the fallen leaves forever far from home.

You aren’t considering her a rebound, right, Joel? ‘Cause if you are, I swear, I’ma smack you right upside the head. And not the part of your head that got overly ossified after you got cracked in the hippocampus with an aluminum baseball bat when you were seven, either. No, I’m talking about the raw, vulnerable side of your skull that’s not as calcified, where you keep your dreams and hopes. This gal is awesome. Do not lower her to such a demeaning standard.

To go, but not for long.
To retreat, only to return.

Its a rebound. Forever restarting after a loss. My mind is blank. I get a second chance. Its a rebound. I will work towards new and better. I have achieved more. Its a rebound. My life can start anew. The point of a rebound is to erase the past because of the new amazing achievements. Its that time.

She was the rebound
to my flexographic dick swinger
because obviously I’m not man enough
to fuck until the break of dawn
or hold someone tight while they wake up
as the world comes to a pose on the edge of life
but who can blame it for using photoshop?

I hate calling her my rebound
due to the fact that i’m in love with her
or she’s in love with me
or we’re mad at the world and sticking it to each other
what the hell is she doing?
what the hell am i doing?
is this the place for reconciliation?
maybe so, maybe not
there is no way of telling
but she does have a nice rack.
Head tilted, the man watched carefully as Finn moseyed slowly to the edge. With a wicked grin, the flame haired man threw the ball off over the railing, watching it sail over the first few roof tops before hitting the ground out of sight. The man at his right, trying not to laugh, clapped him on the shoulder.
“Alright, Finn, I think you’ve had en…..” His words trailed off as the bright red ball came sailing back up the mountainside and was caught smoothly by the skinny boy. Finn held up his prize, grinning from ear to ear.
“Told you.” His pride was blinding. The Foreman’s brow furrowed as he inspected the ball, then his brother.
“What manner of magic is this?” He whispered, more to himself than to Finn.
“Well, it didn’t hit the ground first.” Finn held out the red sphere and dumped it into his brother’s hand. “it hit the wall, then the ground but bounced hard enough that it hit the other wall, then the other, again and again until it worked up enough momentum to come back.” He grinned at the elder brother’s confusion. “Like this,” Finn snatched the ball and turned, quickly hurling the small object to the wall behind them. It hit the wall just inches above the ground, rebounded off the concrete floor then back into his hand. He turned again and grinned.
“It’s sorcery.” The Foreman grumbled, shaking his head and leaving the deck.

It is a thing on the court, or in some relationships, depending on who you are. Find a rebound, be a rebound, play a rebound.

What’s the difference.
Between your next relationship,
and your last rebound.
Faster than any of us could think, the ball rebounded off a jutting corner of the room, bouncing once, twice, then flying back toward us.

Final chance. Final shot. One perfect arc into the reactor’s vent and the diabolical thing would overheat. He tensed, and launched his improvised missile. It bounced off, two feet to the left.

I thought that I loved him, but now I realize I only got with him because he was a rebound. The last guy I was with took a shot, the ball flew through the air, but it missed, and he was the one to catch it. I can’t believe it. I can’t believe any of it.

Rebound, recovery. You make a mistake, catch yourself after the fact, and you need to make things right. It hurts, trying to restore yourself to who you used to be, find your sense of self. It’s a journey for all of us, but we mustn’t take our loved ones down with us.

Doesn’t the word rebound make you think of a breakup? If someone just had a break up and then goes out with someone else, isn’t that rebound dating? And if that person has sex on the date, isn’t that called rebound sex? But then of course there always basketball. Go team!

“I don’t like to admit this, but, my first serious relationship happened on the rebound.” Mike explained. I nodded.
“Wait,” I paused, “Your first? How can that be a rebound?”
“Well… not for me…” He struggled.
“Ouch.” I interrupted, understandingly, “I can see why you wouldn’t like to admit that.”
***Optional line:*** He grinned slyly at me, “It was your mother.”

The motorcycle tore around the bend. The sidecar tire rebounded off a boulder, jolting the bike and making the grips want to jump out of her hands. To her left, the cliff dropped a thousand feet. To her back, she heard the rumble of the truck, still behind her, still keeping pace.
She leaned hard into the turn, keeping the sidecar on the ground and whipping around the bend. Dust crackled off her goggles.

Will I rebound? I’ve worried about my life for so long, careeer, motivation, where to live, love, fun and I wonder how long I will rebound. I’m certainly in some type of transition and is this upswing when I figure it all out or do I have to wait for me to land and complete the rebound before I know?

Shoot… No! Off the rim. Jason fired off his seventh consecutive miss of the 2009 Midwest Basketball championship. Running forward, he snagged the ball and dunked it. Thus he grabbed his seventh consecutive dunk. His team won by two.
You don’t need to be perfect. But you need to keep trying.

I was on the rebound from a bad marriage. Eleven years of my life, lost to a pretense, a lie. It came to an end when he came home from work early one day and found me in bed with the cleaner. I told him straight out: I was in love with a machine.

He came bounding back, trying to get his legs over the tall grass as he lept and ran, the grass tickling his paws and his belly, perturbing his one goal: getting the ball back to the lady. If he got it back, she would throw it again, and he could chase it again, through the tickling grass and laughing sunshine.

Her pulse raced.
She had never done this sort of thing before,
But the opportunity was in her hands and was too good to resist.
She had to take the shot,
Or her teammates would never pass to her again.
Marcey grabbed the ball out of the air and threw it back towards the net
And the stadium held their collective breath.
