  3. blasted through in my room, the sound of love sick rock songs drummed in my ear, leaving a humming noise like the bird outside my window. My heart was broke, he had broken it with that stupid girl. How could he? he loved me? Oh well. life goes oh and so must i, that bastard.

  6. i listen to the radio, my hand held on the backside of this old version of communication in some effort to pull in the signal, make it stronger…i’ve seen that done on old films. no more internet nor cable nor even normal tv for me.

    nor for anyone.

we are left, once again, with the radio to tell us who is winning/losing/who cares? and it’s been silent for days.

still, i sit, and i hold my hand on the back, and i wait… i refuse to accept the last words of mankind was that ass who broadcast, “oops, my bad!”, right before it all went away.

  7. My dad and I were driving home from a daytrip out of town, and Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen came on the radio. He and I looked at each other, and he turned it up, and the two of us sang out loud for the entire song, yelling the whole drive down the highway. It was the first time I’d ever seen my father let loose before, and it’s a moment I’ll always remember, because the two of us shared it, and no one else.

  11. I have a love/hate relationship with the radio. I need to listen to it because I have to stay fresh with the music that’s coming out. However, it’s also ruined a many good song by playing the hell out of it. I think the radio will always be relevant though.

  14. Radio is dying. It’s a sad thing, because it’s so kitschy in a weird way that I love. I love the crackles and the endless ads and bad jokes. I will miss the radio, if and when it dies.

  16. Who killed the radio star! ah Video :)
And then there are radio waves
I want to develop my own frequency
But would then have to find people with similar tunings
    And communicate with them
    Difficult it is
Even now i can say that
Maybe all lines in that route would be busy

  20. I met my ex-girlfriend at our school’s radio station. It’s really weird to think about that now. Something felt strange the first time I saw her. It’s like I knew somehow it would be important. I remember every moment with such intense accuracy, even the ones that took place before she was officially part of my life. One of those people you have a good dynamic with immediately. It’s rare. Fuck.

  26. I love radio because I think free music is one of the last great blessings on earth. You must pay for everything else. Of course, there’s XM and Sirius, but I’m talking about good old free am/fm. Music, sports talk, religious programming, all ours at the flick of a button, NO CHARge.

    by joan on 08.11.2009

  30. She sat by the warmth of the fire, listening to the radio. Since she had lost her sight many years ago, she had found great comfort in the radio. She enjoyed a whole variety of things; talk back (she often phoned in and gave her opinions), music programs, the gardening program and a lot more. She was alone much of her time as her children had long gone and her husband had died about ten years back.

  33. The deep voice of the man speaking of deep things, he speaks of death violence and the kid next door turned from his path to success and pushed through a doorway leading to the dank stairway of prison.

  34. I like listening to music on the radio. The radio is a great source of communication. Media Hype. Music. Semi intelligent people spouting out fact and fiction. Oh, and lets not forget the countless minutes spent with companies feeding you propaganda. You’re lucky if you get three songs in a row…ahh the radio.

    by Allie on 08.11.2009
  35. radio is a way to transmit data to other people. it is also a way to recieve data. Anyone who listens to the radio is listening to the thoughts and data of other poeple who send it. Any one who sends it tells others of what they know and think. IT is important for everyone to know what others know, and the radio was the most popular and powerful way to get and send that information before the invention of the television

  36. The radio shifted in and out of frequency as she drove along the bumpy road, shifting between static and some sort of talk show, back and forth. Irritated, she snapped it off and continued her journey in silence, feeling the vast desert encompass her in it’s sterility.

  37. The radio falls over the side and into the Atlantic, and no one even thinks to grab it. The crew simply watch as the water churns and knocks the boat off-balance, sending their only source of entertainment into the swirling, frothing abyss, never to eke out another one of Captain Lonestar’s country oldies again.

  39. the radio blares and all i can think about is how i don’t want to get up and change the chanel. I don’t like this tune i don’t like the way it makes me think. I feel like the next time I hear a teen pop artist i will shoot the radio.
