  7. Props. Can be both acclaim and devices used to set the scene. Versatile. Ambivalent. Curious. Why props? In Danish, a “prop” is a cork, like in a wine-bottle. It could also be an abbreviated propeller. But who am I to say what is right? Perhaps you are?

    by Bakidk on 07.28.2012
  8. Plays and movies. They all use props. Most props are useless but hey, if it makes the audience feel more into the story, fine. But sometimes, it is more than just the props that matter, it is the actors, with the affinity for feeling their characters feeling, who rarely can make you feel like you are a witness to the real deal, who really matter.

Not bad!

  10. Wonderful things to hold one up, props to self-esteem are compliments and hard facts, hard evidence, not baseless mouthings from others who want you to do something for them, to be as they want you to be, to mould you into their puppet.

Props to those who have taken the time to get to know me for who I am.

We call them by many names-family, friends, work, love, emotions, creativity, etc. Many many wonderful things that support us and hold us up when the going gets rough.

  24. There are so many props you can use in drama. Some props are big, some are small. I quite like props because they can help you become someone else, they help you really feel like you are a different person. On the other hand, they can be irritating and annoying, and just distract or restrict you from performing your best. Depends how you feel; Do YOU want to use props, or not?

    by yasmeen on 07.28.2012
  25. I gotta give you your props. You had me fooled for a second, thinking that you were something else. But no, you kind of weren’t. Turns out, you were just like everyone else, and you screwed around like everyone else. Got to give you your props, and I’ve got to ask– was it worth it to lose everything and everyone for it?

    No, I don’t suppose so.

  29. Props for the theatre, for propping things up. Wooden things with angular edges, long sticks. Highly useful. I use prop to prop my window open in the greenhouse to let fresh air in when it is really hot, sometimes the wind comes along and blows it off and the window crashes down.
I also prop my French doors open to let the summer into my home- problem is the flies follow the summer in and annoy me somewhat, still I will put up with them for the warm, scented air from my garden and the sound of bees buzzing.

  30. You’ve got to give him props. He tried. He put everything he had into it. It just wasn’t enough. No matter what you do, sometimes its not enough. Sometimes you don’t even know where you fell short. He didn’t know. He’d done everything just as he’d been directed. Then he’d gone home and worried. The next morning, everything fell apart.

  32. Props is a great word for me, I used to work props in high school. I used to be the prop goddess, the manager, whatever. I used to be a part of a family of weird kids in a house filled with, well, props. But isn’t that what all houses are filled with now? Props for an ordinary existence, or maybe an extraordinary one, depending on who you are. My room is filled with my props: my make up, my shoes, my bags, my books, my records. They’re all props in my existence, which used to be that of a goddess of the backstage, guarding the props.

  33. I give you props. for being you. your life, your time. This is also kind of theatrical, even if you don’t think about it. this word can be the things you hide behind in front of people on stage.

  35. When i was in tech, I desperately wanted to be the prop master. Being the prop master is what the show depends on. An actor doesn’t have to be good at acting if they have a good prop, the audience will still love it. If i was prop master, I’d pick the most realistic props. Unrealistic props draw the attention of the audience in a negative way.

The students all knew their lines, the songs were all notably on key, and the set was well painted. She had been doubtful, at first, of his skills but, in the end he succeeded.

  38. “Props to you, Jordan” said Dan from across the room. Yes, I must say that I am probably the best beer ponger in the world. Maybe that’s just the beer talking. Probably not though, I’m pretty awesome.

“Okay who’s up to challenge the master?!” I looked around the room and the only thing I saw was Kristi’s orange skirt walking out the door. Then blackness.

  39. damn, comee onnn. u know that was funny, where’re my props?? =p

  40. Props are used in mainly things to do with arts, for example when there is a performance, let’s say dance, they could use a prop such as a hat or walking stick to enhance their performance. This is something that is used in a variety or ways. Enhancing the performance is only one way props are used in a positive, props are also used to assit the telling of a story. A clear example of this is in plays, musicals and movies. Directors may choose to a prop such a spoon for a cook or a knife. For a murder, simple to allow the. Audience to understand the characters and the story better.
