  1. We use paperclips to hold the pages together. If only there was a clip big enough to hold the pieces of my life together. Falling apart like pages blowing in the wind…lost…without anything to hold me together.

  2. paperclips stupid dumb very smart chicks. Work work work for the Jerk jerk jerks. Holding stuff together and keeping it organized two different words together to describe its purpose.

  4. Clips. Paper. Bent into necklaces and into all sort of things. Who invented them, I wonder, and how did they decide to do such? Possibly I’m insane to ponder all this late late at night, but it’s what I do. Who I am. Well, I am me, of course! Short, “average”, you get the gist of it.

  6. I love paperrclips. Paperclips of all sizes. Of all shapes. Of all colors. It never ceases to amaze me that someone came up with the idea for the paperclip in the first place…I wonder what inspired him or her. I wonder who it was who invented the beloved paperclip. I wonder if paperclips will become extinct in a future world where we are paperless. Then the paperclip, ubiquitous though it may be today, would go the way of the dinosaur. Sitting alone, sad and forlorn, and worst of all, unused, in a display case in some museum of 20th century artifacts. How tragic…but for today, at least, the paperclip lives and serves a vital function for people around the globe, holding their papers together. Hooray for the paperclip!

  7. paperclips hold together the pages of yesterday. They keep my pain in one place, and disorganization at bay. Paperclips sit in magnetic holders, magnets scare me, because I have a pacemaker. Paperclips go into the ears of preteen girls to scare their parents.

  8. Paper clips. they covered the floor, they covered my life. I couldn’t get away. They fell from the ceiling. They jumped from the floor, and soon enough, I found myself buried in them, falling apart in paper clips.

  9. I kept blowing fuses on my motorcycle, even while trying to diagnose the problem, I don’t know why I thought it would be such a good idea to jamb a loop of bent paperclip between the posts. What’s amazing is that a 12 volt system could make it glow like a filament in a light bulb and burn the ever loving hell out of my fingers where I was pinching it. While paperclips have many uses, this is one I wouldn’t recommend.

  10. They are an office appliance and can be very helpful to the average folk. They are very overlooked actually, it’s really quite sad. With the popularity of the staple and everything, they are loosing their footing.

  12. Piled up on the desk, taking up space. More space that I don’t need, space that could be used for many other things. People don’t even use them anymore, I certainly don’t use them to hold anything together. Paperclip necklaces, bracelets, priceless jewelry of my childhood. Paperclips so delicately chained together, tying you and me together and so easily broken apart. Bend me break me mold me I am your paperclip, useless and out of touch.

  15. Creative inspirations, for the truly, organized, devout. The twists and curves of a simple paperclip, organized and symmetrical, unorganized and unsymmetrical. Is there no greater metaphor for the confusion, the backwardness and the futile nature of life?

    by Iceman on 12.22.2010

  20. Once I made a chain out of paperclips. It became a bracelet then a necklace then just a massive chain of paperclips. They were all one colour because that’s the only colour the school had, grey. I would’ve liked coloured paperclips, if I had coloured ones I could’ve made a pattern or something which would have made the chain more aesthetically pleasing and then it could’ve been an actual piece of jewelry. Perhaps someone’s already made a whole set of jewelry out of paperclips and actually wears the set in public.

    by Morgan on 12.22.2010
  21. some people have colored ones. why? this has always puzzled me…especially seeing as staples have become such the, well, staple. I think I missed the haydy of paperclips.

  24. Paperclips, the metal things that hold documents together, whether it be for school or the office. they serve a purpose. but they also help reset buttons among other things. in other words, paperclips are always handy to have around. thus we should all have paperclips around the house, since paperclips are one of the many “small” things that make our life functional in the craziest of times.

    by Victoria on 12.22.2010
  25. paperclips are small and sliver. THey tend to be used to hold papers together but often times people create things such as necklaces and belts with large amounts of paperclips. Once I opend up a paper clip, as in un did it, and it was really really sharp. It cut me at first and it was really scary. I decided to throw it away at that point rather than keep it as some sort of strange shank. I guess you could use paper clips as a

  26. They hold things together. Much like mothers. My mom has always held us together. A family was amazing because of her. The frustration and pain that had to be felt, but didn’t show. She was a rock.

  27. Paperclips.

He held my life together. He kept me safe when I needed to be. I loved him.
I walked across my room remembering him. How he smelled. How he looked. How lovely his voice was. I could listen to him talk for hours.

He was my paper clip. He held me together. And now hes gone.

  28. Twisted. Curved Intricate. They are like a maze. Mimicking the preciousness of your wedding band. Multitudes in their valueless. Mocking me.

  29. Paperclips
I searched the room for something I could use. Almost immediately my eye caught the box of paperclips I had neatly on my bookshelf. That was me. Always neat. Now, standing the in middle of my room I felt like a stranger. A stranger looking from a distance, standing in the backround. I could see what other people saw of me. I could see what I was, not just what I wanted to be. I grabbed the paperclips off the shelf and grabbed the first one my fingers could get. I opened it carefully as I sat sprawled on the ground and with one quick movement I dragged the metal end of the paperclip along my forearm. The blood emerged from my pale skin and the pain sunk into me almost immediately. I dropped the paperclip onto my skirt and realized what exactly I just did.

  30. Paperclips are completely obsolete. when iw as a teenager, i used them all the time. at school. at home. for work. but now, i don’t use paper at all. what good could paper clips possibly be? now, if i need a paperclip, it is for more practical reasons than for paper. i use them to scrape my arms when i’m mad. or flatten them out and unlock doors. or to draw on the floor.

  31. Paperclips.

    They seem so small.

But there’s so much you can do with them.

“Stop,” he gasped, his face twisted with pain, “Please.”

I tried my best not to smirk as I twirled the paperclip around in his stomach and watched the blood trickle out.

“Whatever you say,” I replied, pulling it out slowly and smiling. “I hope you’ve learned your lesson.”

  33. they are functional but also fun. we need them to hold papers together but we can also make long chains and wear them as necklaces. I like the big silver ones the best because I think they hold papers together most effectively. but the wax lined paper clips make really fun jewelry because they have colors. i also like binder clips!

  34. paperclips make me think of the movie about the holocaust. this was a terrible event in which 10 million jews were killed. i hope nothing like it ever happens again. paperclips also represent something good to me. they represent ways of keeping me organized and helping me keep my head on straight os my papers dont go flying everywhere. i didnt realize the value of paperlcips until this year when i began my first year of teaching. paperclips also reminds me of the youtube vide muffins… PAPACLIPPPP! which emans me of college and my silly college friends.

  37. i instantly, and unfortunately, think about the stupid paperclip from microsoft word. no i don’t want help. also paperclips should never be thrown out, their final application should be a misshapen bit of metal, only then can you dispose of it.
