  1. Papers clips are somewhat strange being that they’re all bendy. it reminds me of halloween at cammy’s party because we all started out with paper clips to trade up with. well whats so wrong with paper clips? they’re very useful. much more so than staples because those are dangerous and can only clip so much. i suppose paperclips can do… but MORE.

  2. Paperclips are very useful to hold papers together without a sense of permanency. However Clippy sucks. I have no idea who made paperclips but they must have made a fortune. I really have no idea what else to type.

  4. bind the world together, the weaker brother of duct tape. it lived in the shadow, not a binding force and eventually sold its soul to be the lifeblood of various offices and buildings that have a lot of paper. their greatest amitions are to have eyes and be on microsoft documents irrittating people by thier obsoleteness.

    by Kyle Kehrwald on 12.22.2010
  5. Do you know the amount of effort it takes to find a box of paper clips in a haystack? Slightly less than a needle. Bad jokes are like mundane but essential to hold our lives together.

  6. PAPERCLIPS. GAWD THEY’RE JUST SO USEFUL. CAPS LOCK FTW! Anyways, yeah. Paperclips.WOOOO. This is cool. Paperclips. Kind of like bobby pins. But not really. You could turn a paper clip into a braclet, ya know.

  8. she bent the paperclips apart considering using them in replacement of her safety pins that were recently confiscated but there were so many people watching. so instead she begin to use her rage against herself and those who upset her to fuel her art. first she just ended up with a pile of bent out paperclips but slowly she began to find was to connect them with tape, glue, or even bending them around each other. by the end of the day instead of having a new scar that she was going to need to cover up she had a new sculpture that was going to be used in her schools art exhibit.

  10. I always think of the red paper clip story where the guy went on eBay and managed to trade a red paperclip into a house or something. If i could do that I would soooo pay my way to go to South America. Paper clips are full of awesome and can apparently help you achieve anything.

  12. this year was the year of paperclips. There were paperclips galore. Paperclips made me happy to be who I am, with a great family to love, a home and a secure job. This was the year of the paperclip. Holding everything together.

    by greta on 12.22.2010
  13. I like paperclips because they hold paper together and make me feel organised. Make me feel that I am an organised person and that from now on I will be an organised person “this is how I am going to work from now on”. I will be neat and organised and this is the new me. Then I find the papers that I had paperclipped a few days or months or years ago and I think well I was really organised back then, obviously it’s something that didn’t last its something that never lasts!

  14. I held the tiny, twisted metal shape between my fingers.
One paper clip. That’s all it took to hold my life together.
My hands moved to pick up a stack of papers, drowning in letters and punctuation, overflowing with ideas and thoughts. Ten years of writing. Ten years of purpose.
I slipped the paper clip over the left corner and smiled.
Funny how the things we take for granted are often the things we need the most.

  15. Paperclips offer relentless hours of possibilities- we can organize files or create art with such small office supplies; can we do the same with staples?
Yes- and with staples we can mend a broken spirit- with paperclips, we can only temporarily keep it intact, kind of like iron-on adhesive.
So with that said, should I invest in stitches if
    Stitches=Staples
    And
    Iron-on Adhesive=Paperclips?

  16. Paperclips keep things together, yet when they don’t and are just lying around, I can’t help but play with them. I love bending them out of shape and then trying to put them back into their original shape. I used to love those boxes with the magnetic opening that held many paper clips. I’d always turn it over and see if I could perhaps break magnetism and make some fall out.

  17. Sometimes small and sometimes not. Sometimes just the plain old norm or the different colors of the rainbow. That’s what paperclips are. They are needed but we never acknowlege them. Push them off to the side like everything else.

    by Nick on 12.22.2010
  18. they are fun and magnificant. used all the time. for discreet and nondesreet objectives. metal on paper? kinda a funny oxymoron if you ask me. they can be in any color too. red blue purple stripes you name it they have it.

  23. Paperclips are amazing because they clip more than just paper. I often use them for hairpins when I forget a bobby pin in the morning. They can also be used to pick my bedroom lock, which locks on its own accord from time to time. But of course you can use paperclips for all your homework and projects.

  24. hold paper. they clip things. are fun to play with. get kids in school in trouble for making “weapons” which complete bullshit, were kids we like to unbind things abd poke eachother deal with it were not murdurng eachother

  25. paperclips really are very neat. they are used to hold things together. Also, they can be used to unlock things if you seperate them. Seperating things…I feel like I am seperated from a lot of things in life. I need to get out more and explore the world. I hope I can study abroad.

  26. I watched as she attached paperclip by paperclip in order to make a long chain. It was as if I were a Christian standing right before God at the pearly white gates. She fascinated me, it was as simple as that.

She looked up at me as she tried to get the tiny piece through the loop, curious as to what I was staring at.

If she had asked, I would have replied “love”.

  27. Paperclips. I like paperclips. Holding pieces of paper together so effortlessly. Yet they can be shaped into new things, extending their purpose out beyond bonding paper. The potential power of paperclips.

  28. paperclips are the things that bind the world together. they hold paper, they can become screwdrivers, they can unwind and become “braces” we all thought were cool in third grade (we were lame… it’s fine). paper clips are cool because they can become so much we need them to- they hold together the most important papers, and can be used to hold kids artwork.

  30. You are the paperclip to my mess of individual papers. Because of you, you hold me all together. When your paperclip body embodies my pages, I feel secure and safe. I am not scared of falling apart when someone picks me up because I know that I have you to hold me together in one piece.

    by Shelley on 12.22.2010
  31. hold together,
    its not too far.
    the future is bright,
    we’ll shine like stars.
    once we’re there,
    finally fair,
    happiness in bounds.

    by Josh on 12.22.2010
  32. Nifty. Hold papers and various other stacks together. They can be made into fanciful necklaces or be used to replace lost handles on zippers. I quite enjoy the ones of various colors.

    by Pippen on 12.22.2010
  33. Paperclips hold the envelopes to the orders I recieve. I work at a florist, and I write cards to millions of people every month, most of whom I don’t know in the slightest. Right now, it’s “Merry Christmas”, “Happy Holidays” and “Seasons Greetings”. To think, I’m the messenger for all these people, and I’m writing down words of love every day!

  34. paperclips are useful. they keep things together. also i usually keep some on my pants. if i find one lying around. otherwise our house is pretty devoid of them. it’s unfortunate. we should go and buy some so that we can use them again. then again they’re generally used to hold papers together and we have staples for that.

    by Anna on 12.22.2010
  35. I started dreaming about them after he died. Things he’d never use, things he never got to have – useless things, things that no one thinks about. coffee filters. staples. paperclips. I was supposed to provide for him, to take care of those things he never thought about. Things he could count on but never worried him.

  36. what else would i do at night? where would i be without you? i don’t know anymore. i’ll sit here and wait, at my cherrywood desk. i’ll pretend i’m okay, and that i don’t miss you. i’ll fiddle with the paperclips lying haphazardly in the drawer, waiting. i’m always waiting on you. did you honestly believe i’d be alright if you left?

  37. She held the pages together. She sighed and slipped the paperclip in the top left corner. Her 10 page long letter was everything she had stored in her heart. Everything she kept inside and held onto for dear life. But she was tired. She wanted to let go. She sought the taste of freedom. Her only escape was this letter.

    by Yasmine on 12.22.2010
  38. The paperclips know something. Denise can tell by the way they congregate in the drawer. Every time she opens it, a new chain or clump has formed. They’re stuck together or they’re stuck to the drawer’s rolling mechanism. Paperclips are just like people: you can’t trust them, never could.

  39. paperclips hold my life together. sometimes i write and it doesn’t make sense but then i remember that things don’t always have to make sense. life is beautiful because of the mistakes we make. how could we distinguish perfect from not if we didn’t make mistakes? the only way to see the good in life is to junk it up sometimes.

    by Emily on 12.22.2010
  40. Paperclips hold togethers sheets of paper. They can also be used for picking locks but I would advise against that. Unless you’ve managed to lock yourself out of you apartment/house. In which case, go ahead.
