  1. i love mints. actually not really. well it depends on what it is. straight up peppermint is really gross but I don’t really mind eating one. My favorite usage of a mint is uhm york peppermint patties. Man those are good. i love putting one of those in my mouth and just let it melt. i don’t get that ridiculous cool sensation they advertise in the ads but they are definitely refreshing.

  7. Mint. It’s a delicious sensation, rather than a taste. The fresh taste is wonderful when it’s in your mouth, but it’s a million times more interesting when coming from another’s. Most gum nowadays doesn’t even have any real mint in it: only the flavoring. Do yourself a favor and try some REAL mint tea. It tastes heavenly and it actually makes your breath smell nice.

  14. I hate mint flavoring. I think it is the most disgusting flavor ever. I think the only place it belongs in is toothpaste. Like when people say they love mint chocolate chip ice cream, I’m always just like WTF. How you can eat that? One time i found a piece of chocolate and I was all excited cuz i thought it was just chocolate then i found out it had mint inside – UGH!!!

  16. Newly minted money, shiny, bright relief of an artist’s etching, and the clink of currency in your pocket, or hitting the ground. If it’s a penny, will anyone pick it up? Is it considered good luck anymore? Minted.

  18. When I think about mint I think about my school as a little girl. We had a garden with all sorts of flowers and plants and mint was the only thing that we could eat from it. WE didn’t like it, but it was just that little feeling of rebellion that made it so delicious. I don’t know why, but mint will always be my favorite thing to use to spice things up besides cinnamon… :)

  19. Mint in my planter box has moved to weed status. Sure it’s given a culinary, tempting name like “chocolate mint” but it’s taken over the entire window box. But I can use it in ice cream or coffee if I want and that’s not something I can say about most weeds.

  20. There is something exhilarating about the taste of mint. The coolness that brings goosebumps to your skin. The burn on your tongue.

    by Brittany on 05.27.2011
  21. Mints. Mints are just for the kissables, they say. What about those people who just want some nice breath? What about the people who don’t have people to make out with 24/7? Eh. idk what else to say! xD

  22. Wrenched mercilessly from the subterrainean void (at least as we perceive it) by mechanical arms, which themselves were once ores compacted by millenia, the raw material was transported greedily encased by yet more refugees, plucked from their homeland and reshaped by skilled men, melting, fusing, shaping… manufacture in metals is the work of the alchemist, minting money from elements crushed by history, much as the faces on the coins will one day be.

  23. The mint we planted wasn’t supposed to grow very well. We’re not good at growing things. But year after year it returns, each year expanding it’s domain in our garden to the point where it’s now a weed. But a good smelling weed we can use in ice cream or coffee…or just to rub between our fingers for a quick pick me up.

  24. Tinted ashtrays contaminate the sweet scent of honey suckle that entwines and tangles itself ruthlessly outside the entrance of an otherwise moderately shaped and disordinate council house. Climbing to obtain maximum photosynthesis, searching for the sun and projecting beauty in an subordinate land, the mint however grows wildly and unless you are searching for it, its scent remains oblivious.

  27. Tasteful and bitter, delightfully smelling with a lovely green tone. The one scent anyone can make out and the one thing that can flavor anything. A plant that is useful for everyday life and flavor.

  28. Mint filled the air as the words spilled out of the officer’s mouth. I am not sure that they had lights on, or even if he wore a uniform. But I know he smelled so strongly of sweet mint, as he played the grim reaper in the middle of the night.

  29. Mint ice cream, cool and sweet, dripping down my fingers in the heat of the summertime. Oh, I wish for such things, but so rarely do I get them. Be mine, mint ice cream, swirled with chocolate, like being kissed by the winter. Oh, kiss me, kiss me again.

    by Luna on 05.27.2011
  30. Time seemed to stand still as the smell of a mint julep permeated the hot summer air. Papa was on the porch in his sear-sucker suit, cold glass iced and in his hand as he watched the sun set on another summer day in the South. I miss that man and the memories that he instilled in me of those long ago days.

  31. Dirt road drive with the windows down. Felt the willows on my palm. Danced in the lupins and picked the mint leaves all day long.

  32. I like mints. I had a mint once that was so strong, I nearly choked. The man next to me on the bus started doing the himlach maneuver and nearly broke my ribs. So then I punched him in the gut.

  33. Its the first date and I am nervous. My hand are shaking and my palms are sweating. Why do I feel this way? He is just my best friend of 6 years. No big deal. Wait…did I put on deordorant. Oh my goodness my breath smells. I need a mint.

  34. It was a smell he could remember from her hair, something that made her stand out. Most girls he dated had flowery shampoo and conditioner, so the mint stood out and made him remember her. As if nothing else would, but it was the first thing he remembered about her, the time she’d sat down next to him in the staff hotel room one night after she’d joined them.

  37. His lips tasted like mint, as he’d been chewing gum not two minutes before. Camille wondered if she was supposed to feel different now. She’d had her first kiss, with the cutest boy in her class, and she felt just as ordinary and boring as she had previously. Wasn’t this supposed to be life changing? Wasn’t this supposed to be a life defining moment?

    by Baz on 05.27.2011
  38. I have fresh breath. My tongue tingles. I can feel icy waves rapture over my lips. I love the feeling of peppermint and belonging. It’s a stinging sensation that whips over my mouth. It numbs my gum line and retreats into an icy blasts along my teeth.

    by Elan on 05.27.2011
  39. It is so gross. I am not a fan of mint, though I think a lot of people are. I hate it in gum and I most certainly hate it in booze. I think that a lot of people in the world enjoy due to its humanistic raison d’etre… to prevent smelly breath. T
