I thought I knew what friendship meant. Maybe I’m wrong. I’m starting to learn that things are not always as I’d thought them to be. I’m confused. Who is right and who is wrong? And have I been the good friend I thought I’ve been. Probably not. And do I deserve and hurt I might receive from a friends? Maybe so. Some people believe you shouldn’t make promises. I believe that sometimes it’s ok to make promises. Is it or is it not? I have many things to learn but am no as open as maybe I should be. I’m not ready to be taught. And not sure if I’m ready to trust is the knowledge of what true friendship is.
Are things ever meant to be?
Pain, pleasure, desire, fulfillment?
Do things happen randomly or are they pre planned by some entity outside of our understanding?
I learned a lot in first grade. My sister taught me what “meant” meant. She called me an idiot. I tattled on her. She said, “but I didn’t mean it.” My mom said, “see, she meant no harm.” Thats what meant means.
“never meant” by american football is a great song. i meant to listen to it while i was listening to my ipod earlier. man, i never meant to stay up this late. i’m going to be tired at school. i meant to pick a different outfit for tomorrow. i meant to have a better grade in chemistry by now.
What it meant to be wasn’t what it originally meant. I mean, it had meant something at first, but really now doesn’t mean much at all. It’s surprising, really, when you think about it, because it had seemed to important at first – that meaning – because it was something to chase. The taste was what does us in, really. That first hint at rapture and then it’s gone.
what it meant was something unheard of before. it was a long time ago, and we were young. i was handed the thing, then we took off down the road. i’d never been to California before, but i was excited. she knew what it meant, but i didn’t. i loved her. i did.
I managed to mean it, Wow, I really meant it. I hate that awful man. That angry, sad, pathetic excuse for a father. I now know that I can do it alone, I can survive. I meant it.
