I think of a comic book character who got lost from herself. she was leashed but there was nothing holding her because there was nothing TO her. she had lost herself and that was the irony of her name that she was tethered to her complete lack of identity. it is a scary and often present thought in my mind.

  12. She had him on a leash. It was sickening to see his eyes cloud over when he gazed at her…but that was, of course, the life of living with Alysse as a sister. She would, of course do this. I could not, of course, have the slightest semblance of happiness around her. It was fantastic.

You’re as much like a dog as you let them treat you – as much as you beg for treats and sweets and attention. And the leash gets shorter every time you hear that same song on the radio that they want you to listen to that always makes you fall asleep.
