Long division. I remember working really hard to get it in middle school and now I can hardly remember where to begin. It worries me a little and it still makes me feel like an idiot when the opportunity to use it comes up and I realize that all I can do is draw the awkward symbol that begins it and wonder where the rest went.

The great divide of colorado is a beautiful thing to behold. The mountains in the background are gorgeous. You feel small, insignificant, yet part of something great. Nature has a way of making you feel that way.
At the corner, we decided where we would go. At the junction of our adulthood and our past, you flew down the corridor and I stayed terrified and riveted to the floor. It’s too late now to know where you’ve gone but I know only that our division was too sharp and too fast. I have spent nights wondering why you went the way you did and I’ve concluded that there was no other way for you to go.
Divide. Mathetical, but also something that keeps us apart. Something that can be removed or rectyfied but is still there for a purpose. Most divides in our society are bad ones. Life without divides would be much better.
We have so many different views and parties. Nobody really knows what is right though. When you divide you cut yourself off from learning about other view points. Why do it? Why not just accept?

I hated division, didn’t understand the point. Now I’m tutoring a third grader named Trever, and he seems to be getting it, but I still have trouble explaining it.

We don’t divide our time between work and home. Work consumes our entire lives and it becomes the the entire equation where only addition plays a role instead of subtracting work hours and workload in order to enjoy the finer things in life.

I was in a car, and I was sinking down to the bottom of the lake. Slowly going down, I prayed that I could get out of this and see my little girl one more time.
