  3. The walls are tumbling
    falling down
    in an explosion
    of brick, rubble
there is no time for thought
    only movement
    and panicked movement, at that:
    the walls are tumbling
    and there are people
    trapped behind them
    lost,
    not sure where to go
    what to do
    thundering
    clattering
    the walls are tumbling.

I also thought about something people like to talk about a lot – the “collapse of Western civilization.” Why is it always just Western civilization that collapses, though? The countries in the East are as advanced and as vulnerable to collapse as the West now. But that’s politics and no fun.
