When she had guests over, she always moved it out of the bathroom and stowed it behind the salt with the picture of the girl and an umbrella. She was good at keeping secrets now, to the point she had almost convinced herself there was no truth to share. And each time, she half expected there to be no bottle of pills after all.

  14. It’s small. And it’s dark. She hasn’t seen daylight in such a long time, and she’s not entirely sure what that feels anymore. Warm light on her skin. She’s sure that she’s pale; anyone who has been kept in the cabinet that long would be. She’s scared though – this is all she’s known, the small four walls, the constrained space. When she’s let out by the policemen, she can’t help but squint, the bright light burning her. But now, she’s free.

  19. With a loud crash, the glass tipped over; water spilled, droplets cascading over the dark wooden cabinet, down the front of the doors, crashing down, tumbling, spilling and ruining the facade of a perfectly crafted piece of furniture. Destroyed.

  22. Speaking of cabinets, I am beginning to think that oneword is made up of whoever happens to sign in and post and one other person who assumes every other identity of the 46,000 members.
