  2. Darkness everywhere.

A voice cries out as we stumble through the room, digging in cupboards for flashlights and candles.

Eerily, this is drawing us closer together through comraderie instead of tearing us apart.

This is why I love storms.

  4. I like to think of the difference between a blackout and a whiteout. Because with a whiteout you can see nothing but white and snow, but there really isn’t anything that is comparable as a blackout because you don’t see nothing but black. You just see an absence of anything else.

  7. Well that’s what happens here all too often. And it’s frustrating becuase that means I have to run to the base and shut down all the servers. Which takes more time than I actually have. Dumb.

You’d think after all these years we’d be able to prevent them, and predict them more… and warn people about them ahead of time.

And then… opposite of white-out! ha ha

    that would be awesome

massive black marks on the page!

  8. Blackout. I think it’s the title of a song that everyone keeps singing. It’s from a musical, In the Heights. I’m not really one for the music, but it’s racing through the theatre department. I suppose I might as well jump on the bandwagon too.

  9. with anyone but you i’d black out in the dead of the night. in the fall when everyone is sleeping i would choose the lion over the lamb. but i would fall for you than fall for anyone that doesn’t look like a wolf in wolf’s clothing, and everyone can black out thinking so.

  22. Lights gone, we start to feel our way around the room. End table, the corner of the TV, the large coat rack we got at the estate sale. Finally we find the matches and strike the dark a glancing blow and the shadows sketch us as fleeting shapes in a place we never knew was in the room.

That is always what happens in the end, a blackout that ends it all. there is nothing more in life than endings and blackouts. This is the secret that people don’t realise. 32. She had been feeling unwelol for daysbut had edecided against seeing her doctor. She awoke, lying in a heap on the store floor, to hear that she had sudfered a blackout. She was disoriented and felt really sick, like she was going to vomit. Faces peered down at her, with looks of concern. She looked up at the sea of faces, all seemingly waiting for her to speak./ “How long have I been on the floor” she asked of the crowdh. A tall man wearing a turban gently replied “About five minutes”. “Fives minutes, wow”. She sat up slowly, all the time feeling woozy. She pulled herself up slowly, smoothing down her skirt and taking her hands to her hair. “Do you need ,me to call you a doctor” asked the fall turbanned man. “No , I’ll be right” she replied. She just wanted to get out f there, away from the crowd that encircled her. She felt her mobile phone vibrate in her bag. Pressing the answer key she heard the voice of her husband “Where the hell are you, I’ve beenm sitting in the carpark waiting for fifteen minutes. I’m fed up of this, you’re so bloody unreliable” he shouted into the phone./ The thought of another altercation make her feel; sick to her stomach. The arguments had been going on for weeks and she was over it. He could stick his mansion and his rolls royce up his arse for all she cared. And the planned to Paris. They had been married for five years, and the last year had been hell. What with the affairs he had had, his contact bad temper and the physical abuse, she was ready to walk. 34. The night was still young as the blackout swept throughout the city. Block by block, line by line, like dominoes falling in slow motion, the city slowly died. As people walked out of their apartments in awe, they finally realised who were their neighbours. That the creepy guy next door with a tattoo had a daughter of 4. That the guy who kept to himself had a nice, smile.

  38. This is what happens when the power goes out. People freak out and often get out flashlights and/or candles so that they can see around the house. Blackouts can sometimes be really serious because people in work environments can get seriously hurt.
