mystery
Mr. Mustard, in the guest house, with a candle stick... and with the swiftly asserted accusation, the evening's single noteworthy affair was brought to a conclusion.
half
I'll eat half now, and half later. In this moment, half appears filling. Later, it will appear as though it was never really half at all. It will appear as though I had really only left myself one-third. And if later the situation arises that I desire a complete portion, the meager half will be there to stand in my way. I will be incapable of overlooking it. Later, I will want an entire portion, but will be left with one that appears insufficient because I was too aware of my appearance to eat an entire portion now.
dense
There's no denying the chemistry between Density and me. All of my mass over that supreme volume...
evidence
An intern, wide-eyed and eager, subjects the leaking flask to a more thorough observation. The hypothesis that promptly follows is just this: the fractured glassware will not allow its contents to achieve a constant volume. The intern cleverly formulates a theory, which is hastily and quite illegibly documented on the topmost leaf of a spare legal pad. If the equipment in the storage-room is organized precisely as it is on paper, then evidence would suggest that more durable glassware may be found on the shelf above the crucible tongs. And so begins data collection.
pressed
My immediate thought would be of the unity between two harmonious bodies. Out of habit, I reluctantly dismiss this thought to the place where all inappropriate and most inconvenient of its kind go, and I very soon replace it by that which reminds me how pressed I am for time.
