middle
She was the middle of everything. The middle child. The middle of fights. The middle of her parents love. She was also the middle of the school children. The middle of hugs. The middle of kisses. Some days she hated being in the middle, as though she were the forgotten one, the one who was only there because she made herself loud enough to be heard. other days she liked being the middle - she could learn from her sisters mistakes and still teach her other sister new things.
duration
The duration of the project was spent in pain. They couldn't agree on anything, and had a hard time doing anything but fighting. When the teacher had paired them together they fussed and moaned, earning each of them not only a look but a sharp tone. They didn't understand WHY she expected them to work with someone they didn't like. What was the purpose of this stupid exercise anyhow?
slivers
Wood fragments stuck up from the piece of wood. They got stuck in her fingers as she ran her hand down the side. A muttered muted cuss escaped her lips, along with a scowl on her face. His eyes were both amused and concerned at the pain that she had gotten. Amused because of the words, concerned for infection.
graduation
The day that the students walked across the stage was the happiest day of their life, and yet the saddest as well. They were finishing a chapter in their life. It was a chapter that they had pushed to complete, a chapter that they could not wait to complete. Now as they awaited their name to be called, the fear rose in them. What was going to come next? What would their world become outside of the four walls where they had made friendships and more?
