visit
The visit was brief. That was a first. She usually stayed a little bit longer, if only to catch a buzz and disappear into the night. Not on this night. There was an electrical aura or urgency pulsating through her veins, urging her to leave immediately.
end
The end is never really certain. Sometimes it happens when you're least aware. Like on a cool November evening, you're sitting with your back against his, both immersed in your separate novels. And somewhere between chapters 3 and 4, your end came and went.
ground
The ground is littered with golden fall leaves. The wind is swirling them all around as if the fingers of the gods are stirring their drinks in circular motions. Slowly. Seductively. The sky is dark but the ground is bright, bright gold.
use
Use and abuse. Bemuse and amuse. But don't use. Disuse the disguise to hide the guise that things are alright with how things used to be.
heartache
This is a hard one. Heartache can be so cliche. Like, he drove away in his father's old '72 Mercedes, a car he loved to work on so much, a car that he used to take me cruising around in on sweet summer nights. We used to sit on the look out, smoking a joint, and the soft leather of those seats were a source of comfort for me. I could feel my heart break, my heartache, as I knew I would never see my beloved Mercedes Benz again. God, I loved that car so much.
