dare
The dare was always easier than the truth. Giving a dare was easier than fulfilling one, though. Hanson, being one to dish out excellent dares, usually knew better than to pick dare for himself. However, today he had secrets to hide. When avoiding the truth, people will go to extraordinary lengths to hide it. He didn't want Jennifer, his girlfriend's roommate, to find out about his romantic tryst with his neighbor, Gabrielle.
patrol
Some days he found it hard to care about the lives of others. He risked his life every damn day on the force. He hated patrol. It was the worst part of the job. He was the bookish type of guy who preferred paperwork rather than the frightening street prowl. He didn't like the idea of risking his neck for some conspiracy-theorist who would later bitch about him.
